@bigbasket_com has killed the BB daily app and the service has gone a lot lot worse.
The BB daily section is horribly designed and help is hard to find.
Lot to learn on how not to merge services....

It is noteworthy that in the three articles in TOI, not one talked about what was ailing him and cause of death.
If his family didn't want it to be revealed, that's perfectly understandable but no such mention of that either.

They all had under 24 hours to write and release these days. Ogilvy's own ad is the best, of course. It makes even strangers (to Piyush) feel like they got to know him a little. Piyush may have sold a lot of great products, but the truth was that he himself was a great 'product' that one could write a lot about. And Ogilvy lavishes the writing less on his craft (which was universally known) and more about the man himself (that only people who interacted or worked with him would know).
The ads by Cadbury's and Fevicol are by Ogilvy too, I presume, as the brands' ad agency. The Fevicol ad, in particular, is Lord Ganesha going around Lord Shiva and Lord Parvathi where the Ogilvy ad would be the equivalent of Lord Murugan going around the world.
Amul, of course, has a lot of experience in coming up with ads in under 24 hours on topical events. Crisp and beautifully framed!

B Dayananda is an upright, rare, dignified and efficient IPS officer. In the last two years, he has worked tirelessly to restore the credibility of @BlrCityPolice whose reputation had hit the rock bottom. Siddaramaiah Government has sacrificed him and some of his subordinates to save their chair. Despite police objections, government had allowed/organised two back to back events resulting in the death of 11 people. DK Shivakumar was leading the both. Should not @siddaramaiah and @DKShivakumar resign? Will the Congress high command act against them? What about the Home Minister? Siddaramaiah has committed a grave mistake and will pay a heavy political price for it. He is trying to save himself and DKS. Not so surprisingly his long time top aide @lkatheeq has also resigned a day before leading to a debate about a coterie running the CMO. @IPS_Association should fight for their own. Politicians can sacrifice anyone, IPS or IAS to ensure they stay in power. #stampedetragedy

How to Sell a 500-Page Doorstopper on the Indian Economy
Krishnamurthy Subramanian, former Chief Economic Advisor to the Ministry of Finance, recently wrote a book titled India@100: Envisioning Tomorrow’s Economic Powerhouse, published by Rupa Publications.
In a curious twist of bureaucratic generosity—or perhaps literary patriotism we should say—the Union Bank of India decided to bulk-buy nearly 2 lakh copies of this book, spending close to ₹7 crore in the process.
To put that in perspective, given that I have written and published non-fiction books, in the Indian non-fiction publishing world, selling 10,000 copies makes you a bestseller.
Most authors never hit those numbers (10,000 copies that is). Subramanian, on the other hand, was catapulted past that milestone 20 times over—thanks not to readers, but to a single institutional buyer.
And here’s the kicker: the book has just 270 ratings on Amazon. That’s usually a sign of modest organic sales—probably under 10,000 copies. So while the book might not have won over the masses, it certainly found one very powerful fan.
