Many thanks to @MsgrKSullivan for hosting me & providing the platform of @CathCharitiesNY to voice human rights concerns in Turkey! I shared what “social death” means & how it affects millions in #Turkey, including babies, the sick, the elderly, and many others. I also spoke about the use of religion as an ironic tool to target individuals based on their political views and religious practices, as well as women’s experiences of femicide, stigmatization, and discrimination. Highlighting projects such as the “Metamorphosis” documentary, reports, and conferences, I also underlined the resilience and resistance of survivors, especially women, against autocracy. It was a meaningful & productive conversation that encouraged awareness, solidarity, and action in support of persecuted people in Turkey.
