@noideas781 @Lewis_Bollard @thewillwitt Fish are meant to be eaten. Death is just part of their lifecycle for humans. There will always be suffering in death. It might be sad but just be thankful you don’t have to do it yourself because you live in a soft society

Bryson, it seems like you willfully ignore a fundamental truth of Christianity: The law was fulfilled in Christ. Yes, the Bible says it *was* a sin to eat pork under Old Testament cerimonial laws. But a simple exegesis of the New Testament reveals "Christ is the end of the law" (Rom. 10:4). Regarding diet specifically: Jesus Himself says in Mark 7:18-19 "Don't you see that nothing that enters a person from the outside can defile them... Thus he declared all foods clean." I appreciate your desire to live biblically, but suggesting Christians are to follow every jot and tittle of Old Testament Mosaic law is applying very poor hermeneutics of Scripture, which ultimately diminishes Christ's atonement.

Also worth pointing out that the Jesus of Islam is not the Jesus of Christianity. Islam explicitly denies Jesus' divinity, crucifixion, resurrection, and atonement. They don't "love" Jesus; they lie about Jesus.

I am not trying to make my Catholic friends, who I love, angry with this statement. But this entire episode is starting to explain to me why so many Americans were concerned about a Catholic president for so long. I have no interest in Rome trying to dictate American policy. And if it continues to loudly make its opinions heard on our foreign policy, I believe they’re going to find a lot of American Protestants feeling a lot less ecumenical than we have been in the more recent past.

@Babygravy9 Either this is bad faith, or your reading comprehension needs work. Never have I said sex is not essential within marriage. I’ve said, if you read the post in full, that men AND women can handle intermittent abstinence in marriage as needed.

Men don’t need sex. Our culture is so hypersexualized that the idea of a celibate priest leaves people in disbelief—as if it’s impossible. That’s heartbreaking. Have we really forgotten that self-control and virtue are within reach? Look at Jesus Christ. The most perfect man to ever walk the earth was celibate and sinless before He was crucified for our sins. Shouldn’t He be the supreme model for manhood? Self-mastery. Discipline. Total self-gift—all out of love. Priests choose celibacy so their hearts can belong entirely to God. As St. Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 7:32-35: “I want you to be free from anxieties. The unmarried man is anxious about the things of the Lord, how to please the Lord. But the married man is anxious about worldly things, how to please his wife, and his interests are divided... I say this for your own benefit... to secure your undivided devotion to the Lord.” Abstinence isn’t just for priests—intermittent abstinence can also be a beautiful practice within marriage if a couple has a serious reason to delay bringing a baby into the world. When practicing Natural Family Planning (NFP), spouses can grow in self-mastery, deepen their love, and remain faithful to God’s design for marriage. Christ is the model. Love is the reason. Holiness is the goal. Watch E238 of The Lila Rose Show: youtu.be/hkhX9sP9Rxk

This is a stressful night for all Iranians. My family and I have huddled together, having spent all our money stocking up on non-spoiling necessities. We're now completely out of funds as people are not getting paid. Unsure what the next few hours will bring — but we are as ready as we’ll ever be. Whatever happens, as long as enough of Iran remains to save, we Iranians will rise up and topple this regime. If the electricity goes out, so does our internet. Even my Starlink won’t work then. If that happens, I want to thank @Starlink for being a most welcome light in our darkness. Every single piece of real information that has ever come out of Iran — whether directly or indirectly through VPNs like V2ray that first connect via Starlink — has only been possible because of Starlink. Everything else is just regime propaganda from agents with their special white SIM cards that have unrestricted access. The Islamic Republic worships death and kills its own citizens with impunity. I pray that president Trump delivers on his promise, and that the US and Israel level the playing field so we can finally deal with the regime — without destroying too much of Iran, so there’s still something left to save and rebuild. Trump's words are usually extreme, so I hope "end of a civilization" is just scare tactics. Soon, this nightmare of evil will end. I know it in my heart. #DigitalBlackOutIran#IranMassacre

Money and family is not real either. The only real thing is God, and almost nobody understands what that means. Don't store your treasures in the Earthly realm where everything dies. Store them in the deepest part of yourself, deeper than the body, deeper than the mind, deeper than the emotions, deeper than instinct and intention. Beyond the place that dreams spring from. Every material thing you have will die. The source of all things will remain.

Pope Leo: “[Jesus] does not listen to the prayers of those who wage war, but rejects them.” There is absolutely no biblical basis for this whatsoever. Christians should strive for peace, yes. We don’t revel in death and destruction. And a Christian could make a sound argument against the particulars of many wars throughout history, including the war with Iran today. A Christian could also agree that God shouldn’t be used to justify unjust wars. But to say that God is against war per se is flat out false. All throughout the Old Testament God calls for war in defense of His people. Exodus 15:3 declares, “The Lord is a man of war; the Lord is His name.” David constantly prayed to the Lord while battling his enemies. He says his cries to the Lord “reached His ears” and God answered him. God didn’t just answer David by hiding him away but by giving him lethal strength: “He trains my hands for war” (Psalm 18:6, 34). If you discount these examples because they’re in the Old Testament, you don’t understand Scripture or God. Jesus is God; therefore everything God has ever done Jesus has fully agreed with and participated in, and He does not change (Hebrews 13:8). Mind you also that Jesus Himself promises to come back as a warrior to wage war against evildoers. There are categories of people whose prayers God does not answer: the self-righteous, those who pray with selfish motives. People who wage war are not automatically in one of these categories. I’m so glad our founders did not believe this way. I love this retelling of the story of the pacifist Quaker who allegedly heard Washington praying in the woods at Valley Forge: “He was at Prayer to the God of the Armies, beseeching to interpose with his Divine aid, as it was His crisis, and the cause of the country, of humanity, and of the world.” Sometimes force is necessary to defeat evil and advance good. When it comes to these matters, Pope Leo has repeatedly proven that he is not wise.

The idea that a non-monastic Roman citizen just opted to never have sex with his pretty wife for 40 years, and all the people who are explicitly called Jesus' brothers were his distant cousins, is a fascinating example of dogma - a thing believed because one is supposed to believe it.
