DMRC CELEBRATES NATIONAL ENERGY CONSERVATION DAY-2025 The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) observed National Energy Conservation Day–2025 and unveiled its new “Sustainable Energy Policy”, reaffirming its commitment to energy efficiency, conservation, and responsible environmental stewardship across the organisation. The policy aims to institutionalise best practices in energy management and foster a culture of sustainability among DMRC employees. To acknowledge the dedicated efforts that led to DMRC’s three metro stations getting recognition by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE). Dr. Vikas Kumar, Managing Director, DMRC felicitated the station teams by presenting them with a ‘Certificate of Achievement’. In addition, several employees were honoured with ‘Energy Conservation Excellence Awards’ for achieving significant energy savings through efficient operation and maintenance of systems. This recognition is intended to motivate employees across the network to further enhance performance and adopt innovative energy-saving practices. Solar developers associated with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) for nearly a decade, were also felicitated for their exemplary collaborative efforts to maximise solar power generation and advance DMRC’s commitment to a greener and more sustainable future. M/s Purshotam Rays Power Pvt. Ltd. & Purshotam Green Pvt. Ltd. secured the First Prize for achieving a 19.7% increase in Capacity Utilisation Factor (CUF) compared to the previous year, while M/s Azure Power Saturn Pvt. Ltd. secured the Second Prize for recording a 12.12% improvement in CUF over the same period. This was achieved through a joint initiative ‘SAHYOG’, launched by DMRC with 14 Solar developers, to check the health of plant and maximise solar generation. DMRC continues to set benchmarks in sustainable urban mobility by integrating energy-efficient technologies, renewable energy solutions, and employee-driven conservation initiatives, reinforcing its role as a leader in sustainable mass transit.

Bad news. Fake ORS ban has been paused by the Delhi high court. ORSL has been allowed to sell 180 crore of their stock first. ORSL sells at 45 rupees per pack, so basically they want to sell 4 crore (180/45) fake ORS packs. These fake products have up to 10 times more sugar than real ORS, and can be dangerous for kids suffering from diarrhea. I request all Indians to unite and support @dr_sivaranjani in the fight against fake ORS. The caller (told police officer) demanded a hefty sum of ₹50,000 in exchange for his safety. The worst part? They knew personal details about me, my son, and even manipulated their voice to sound like him, making the situation feel all too real. The initial shock and fear that gripped me as I heard what sounded like my son crying and pleading in the background were indescribable. Panic set in as my son was unreachable on his phone, adding to the nightmare unfolding before me. However, as the conversation progressed, red flags started to appear, and I soon realized it was a malicious scam. Thankfully, my son called back, safe and unharmed. The relief I felt was immense, but the trauma of the incident lingers. I strongly urge the authorities to thoroughly investigate this cybercrime attempt and take decisive action to prevent others from falling prey to such heartless scams. DELHI METRO BREAKS ITS PASSENGER JOURNEYS’ RECORD 17 TIMES IN THE PAST ONE MONTH Delhi Metro which has registered its previous highest journey record on a single day (13th February 2024: 71,09,938) before 12th August 2024, has achieved a unique feat by breaking that mark by record 17 times within a span of one month i.e, from 12th August to 12th September 2024. (See the table attached below showing top 20 passenger journeys till 12th September 2024). Also, out of top 20 passenger journeys registered so far, 19 are from this year only, remaining two in the month of February 2024. The passenger journeys registered by Delhi Metro in the past four days i.e, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th September 2024 have turned out to be amongst the top five passenger journeys performed in the Metro network, with the highest ever passenger journeys record made on 20th August 2024 at 77,49,682. The passenger journeys performed in the last four consecutive days are as below: 1.2nd highest on 09th September - 77, 16,910 2.3rd highest on 10th September - 75, 71,124 3.4th highest on 11th September - 75, 50,620 4.5th highest on 12th September – 73, 25,403 In view of the increased passenger journeys, DMRC has decided to run one extra train on all its lines performing 84 extra train trips today and tomorrow. These additional trains/trips will be continued on coming weekdays also, if required. This trend further strengthens Delhi Metro’s acceptability as the most dependable, reliable, punctual and comfortable mode of public transport in these extended spells of humidity and rain, allowing people to avoid road blockages and delays caused by heavy rains, ensuring they reach their destinations on time. The interconnectivity of metro network through 29 interchange stations has also enhanced seamless connectivity enabling people to reach any corner of Delhi-NCR in the most convenient manner. Further, DMRC has introduced several channels for ease of booking of tickets including DMRC Saarthi App, One Delhi App, WhatsApp, Paytm, Amazon Pay. Customers are encouraged to use these channels to purchase tickets even before reaching the stations to avoid queuing at ticket counters
