This! I’m one of the students who spent four years working toward a degree only to graduate with a blank bit of paper and no degree. This is NOT the lecturer’s fault. They are doing everything right and are given no respect by management or media. #UCURising @StrathclydeUCU

@grace03445955 @ucuatdurham I refused to get doffed and put a sash on, strathclyde mysteriously have technical difficulties with only my ceremony and all the rest are on YouTube🤔

@ucuatdurham I wore a badge saying “not graduating thanks to Karen” and was blacked out from the screens. So along with not actually graduating, my family didn’t even get to see me in this faux ceremony.

We've been told that at this morning's completion ceremony one student refused to shake hands with the VC, saying  "no degree, no handshake!". Our students Get It.

I HAVE FEEDBACK ON MY 8 THOUSAND WORD DISSERTATION! Oh, wait. No, I have 100 words of vague waffle. Whoever marked this didn't approve of the title that my supervisor told me not to change. This is an insult to me and my supervisor and I am in shock

@drjordankistler Many people mentioning AI. Well, this has just been sent to me. Obviously is not proof, but highly entertaining even if it is wrong and shows how impersonal the feedback is

I know that this was not marked by my supervisor @drjordankistler and do not know who has given me this grade and feedback

@i_decked_it I totally sympathise. Definitely appeal it. It's really not fair on you and other students who have put all the work in, especially after three such difficult years what with Corona and strikes.

@maregan_le_fay This would make absolute sense, I genuinely would prefer no feedback to rushed work from someone over-worked who doesn't know the field

@i_decked_it What I suspect may have happened (though ofc I don't know) is that both OG markers were MABing; your uni couldn't find a replacement for marker 1, and whoever they got to replace marker 2 was probs given v little notice (less than a week) to return their mark, hence crap feedback
