@rauchg @ifeltsweet @leeerob It’s not, to my knowledge. The issue was closed in favor of a discussion, which seemed discouraging

@leeerob @rauchg promising that a very important feature will be supported but then closing the issue without clarification is a little discouraging. github.com/vercel/next.js… Can we get a clarification if app router static export dynamic params support is on the roadmap or not?

@nico_eth I'm rooting for every possible decentralized social project to succeed but there's something disheartening about "join the waitlist for the private beta of our decentralized social network" 🤨

@aedison I'm not certain what the limit is anymore given how fast I've seen the latest AI stuff advancing. What do you see as the new limit?

if it were possible, it would be profoundly evil; also, *it’s not possible*. like VR before it, recent superficial advances in “AI” disguise the fact that the technology has a hard limit which we are rapidly approaching. it’s all make-believe, and grift, and fashion

literally a term for the phenomenon of humans being able to tell when something trying to be human is faking it; we have absolutely zero idea how our brains and sentience works; these “AI” grifters are trying to pretend a chatbot voiced by your dead loved one would be a comfort?
Pratik Desai@chheplo

Start regularly recording your parents, elders and loved ones. With enough transcript data, new voice synthesis and video models, there is a 100% chance that they will live with you forever after leaving physical body. This should be even possible by end of the year.

@waitbutwhy This claim is just "some things lie outside of the Overton window." But the debates you're referencing are debates about what the Overton window ought to be — we have strong fundamental disagreements about what things should be acceptable politics. Therein lies the problem.

A common retort to this brings up an extreme example (e.g. "oh so we should just let Nazis say they want to kill Jews?"). In these extreme cases, 99% of society roundly rejects the idea and person—the canceling is imposed by everyone, everywhere. That's not idea supremacy.

Let's talk about social authoritarianism. We can break low-rung thinkers (those who identify with their ideas, care more about being right than truth, never change their mind, etc.) down into three categories: 1. Non-authoritarians 2. Social bullies 3. Idea supremacists 1/10

(A Speedrunner Explaining the Grocery Store's Self-Checkout Isle) Yeah so on a 6-sided box you have a 16% chance of scanning the barcode without looking; 33% if we assume it's not on the front. Basically it's worth the RNG risk since the timesave is huge compared to looking first

if I post on Lens or Scuttlebutt, you can take a look at that "post" artifact and say "oh yeah iameli posted something" without any additional context. decentralized!

the fundamental principle of decentralization: user actions are first-class constructs that exist outside the context of any particular provider (that... needs to be snappier. going to workshop it a little)
