@fesshole In traditional Malay weddings in Malaysia, it is automatically assumed that the guests would bring family members and even friends. So if you invite 100, you estimate around 500 people to come along. The food is served buffet style and guests come and go.

Went to the wedding of a university friend. When we got to the meal, realised I hadn't been invited as my name was not on the seating plan. Being in WhatsApp groups of other attendees I just assumed I had been invited as I knew everything about the day. Truly mortifying.
