@McMonroe22 @samtripoli You don’t know what you are talking about. You can read but you have no experience in the real world. Sorry, get out of your small town and live somewhere else for a change. Eye-opening.

@igrochyok @samtripoli Bro, can you read? If I moved to the largest city in my state, everything would be significantly more expensive. My rent would be 3x higher and homeless would camp in the lobby. Homelessness and poverty isn’t unique to the left or right.

@linterpio @samtripoli I can’t answer for “many people.” We are in a flyover red state, have seen quite a few other refugees from blue states.

@igrochyok @samtripoli Idt it’s an inherent democrat policy- it’s a policy to combat population density issues. But also, the people leaving are not going to Mississippi, they’re not going to North Dakota, just like I said. They’re going to states that a diverse. You don’t like real “red” states either

@linterpio @samtripoli It’s a Democrat policy, one of many. Yes, the wealthy are more resilient, but even they have begun to leave.

@igrochyok @samtripoli Assuming you left cali, but that’s never happened to me in ny. But to me, that kind of sounds like a money issue? Again, millionaires and billionaires aren’t sweating the issue you presented. I agree it’s a ridiculous policy- but it favors wealthy people, penalizes non wealthy.

@McMonroe22 @samtripoli Your plumber is close because you are in a red state without the dysfunction. Farmers need subsidies not because they are moochers but because we buy fertilizer from Russia and costs don’t align. You haven’t seen real poverty until you visit Cali.

@igrochyok @samtripoli You’re literally just ignoring every point I make, so I’ll repeat them for you. Every large city has the issue of being too expensive and having homeless people. Red states are that largest recipients of federal aid. I live in a small town. My plumber is 300 feet away.

@linterpio @samtripoli We were told to reduce water consumption or face a fine. Simultaneously, the water company said if we reduce consumption it will recoup revenue and assess a surcharge. So you pay either way. just one example of what actually makes blue states so expensive.

@igrochyok @samtripoli They’re not running from the consequences of their votes. They’re running away from population density & a wealth class that is forcibly driving them out. You think it’s “voting for sanctuary cities” or w/e but it’s really billionaires and millionaires driving them out via COL

@McMonroe22 @samtripoli We lived in the Bay Area. Average house price $1 mln. No repairmen can afford to live there, so the nearest plumber is 3 hrs away. A simple repair is thousands. Gas $8 a gallon. Every other car a jalopy. You have no clue. I hope you move and find out.

@McMonroe22 @samtripoli Cali is neo feudal: overregulated, government everywhere, ultra wealthy tech bros next to abject poverty, small middle class, horrible inequality. If you live in a red state, you don’t know how good you have it.

@linterpio @samtripoli This isn’t about “people with different opinions” is it? It’s about people who vote for bad policies, run from the consequences of their votes, and don’t even understand what happened to them and why, so they continue to support the policies that failed them.

@samtripoli They’re moving to cusp red states. Nobody is moving to Mississippi, North Dakota or Alabama. Georgia and Texas have always been diverse and have always been competitive races, even before this mass exodus. Go move to Mississippi if you’re afraid of people with different opinions

I’m very confused about the number of people who think “property tax” is a sales tax on you home rather than taxes to pay for public services you use every day. “I paid off my home why do i still pay property taxes?!?!?” Oh, did you also stop using the roads and libraries and sidewalks and parks? Not worried about fires anymore?

Actually, it’s not a problem if we’re the international currency of exchange! If our dollar maintain its status, the amount of debt becomes utterly insignificant and irrelevant. As long as you own the printing press, and the rest of the world is compelled to use your currency, you can continue accumulating debt without any consequences!

Protests have always included street theater, satire, and symbolic acts—whether you agree with the message or not. Calling it “not real activism” doesn’t change the fact that public demonstrations are meant to be seen, provoke reactions, and spark debate. That’s literally how protest works.

This is Times Square… in real life. Yes it’s true… Grown adults… in the middle of New York City… Crawling on all fours… wearing signs like collars… Barking… gagged… blocking traffic… All to protest a “king” that doesn’t exist. Let that sink in. This isn’t activism… This is performance degradation. While real people are working… commuting… trying to live their lives… You’ve got a group turning themselves into a spectacle of submission in the middle of the street. And they think this communicates strength? No. It communicates collapse. Because when a movement runs out of logic… It replaces it with theater. And the more extreme the behavior… The louder the applause inside that echo chamber. But outside of it? People see exactly what this is. Not power… Not resistance… Not influence… Just chaos dressed up as a cause. And the cameras caught it all. #SilentMajoritySpeaks #AStoneGroove

@magpiesplace @AndrewBeckUSA By far most retirees worked in the private sector and so don’t have any pension either. They have, however, spent decades paying property tax to educate your “workers” children.

@AndrewBeckUSA For retirees mad about your comment Exhibit A: IL State Retirees contribute $1 for every $25 they collect. (50 at top : $333K in =$8.4M lifetime) Is a plush retirement ok when the massive shortfalls are borne on the backs of workers, most of whom have no pension?

American citizens are now keenly aware that their taxes are just redistribution programs for foreign carpetbaggers, comfortable retirees, and social degenerates. We have not seen the bottom yet caused by this loss of legitimacy.

We owe $8,000 to the IRS because we withdrew money to take care of my wife's mother to move her near us so we can take care of her. Do you know how hard it is to see these stories showing the fraud and corruption taking place with our tax money when writing the check?

@tedperl @RonDeSantis It is impossible to integrate significant numbers of immigrants. We already have Spanish as a de facto official language because large numbers of people feel no need to learn English. And so on.

@RonDeSantis Birth tourism is insignificant. And I thought that the Trump administration wanted to limit illegal aliens--abandoning ius soli will just increase the number. You want to integrate immigrants, not make everyone's life more difficult.

I think the reason Congress doesn’t address the problem is because most members support granting birthright citizenship to children of illegal aliens and are not bothered by birth tourism. That is not reflective of the views of the public, of course.
J. Riley@sjmbbriley

@RonDeSantis This probably won't pass the supreme Court but I cannot for the love of God understand why Congress just doesn't make an amendment.. that bypasses the supreme Court.. but our politicians can't be expected to support the US.. they are a bunch of cowards

For everyone in the replies asking how to actually make this happen in Ohio: The grassroots campaign needs 413,488 signatures by July 1st to get the total abolishment of property taxes on the November ballot. Governor DeWine is terrified of this passing, but the power is completely in the hands of the taxpayers right now. If you live in Ohio, find a local petition and sign it. It's time to stop renting your own home from the government.

The Ohio government is officially panicking over a massive grassroots movement to completely abolish property taxes. Governor Mike DeWine just warned that eliminating the tax would devastate local schools and libraries, threatening that the state would have to jack up the sales tax to 20% just to cover the gap. But Ohio homeowners are fighting back with one simple reality: If you can lose your fully paid-off house for not paying the government, you don't actually own it, you are just renting it. The state already collects billions in income and regular sales taxes. Instead of threatening us with 20% sales tax rates, the government needs to figure out how to balance its own budget without holding our homes hostage.
