I am thrilled to introduce to you an outreach program done last week about Value Addition to Seaweed for livelihood betterment to the coastal community. It involved 40 participants 20 women seaweed farmers and 20 females from second and third year undergraduate students.

Mwambao has had a role in a sustainable octopus fishery in Tanzania. With such a rapid growth rate doubling weight in 6 weeks, the Day Octopus represents one of the few species with commercial value that can demonstrate the positive impacts of community-led co-management.

Installation of fish vessels tracking system, temperature and depth sensor at Kizimkazi landing site. The activity was implemented by teams of experts from ZAFIRI, @imsudsm @wiomsa, to ensure continuous data collection using fishers vessels #CitizenScience @smarter_earth
