The Palestinian position is purposefully ambivalent but at the same time all roads lead to the same goal. One one side there is the demand for the establishment of the Palestinian State within the pre 1967 borders of Jerusalem, West Bank and Gaza. This demand is inexorably tied to a right of return to Israel proper for millions for descendants of Palestinians refugees. The goal is to establish a adjacent hostile state with indefensible borders and the removal of the Jewish presence from the old city, as it was from 1948-1967. Simultaneously, the right of return is designed to challenge the Jewish demographic majority in Israel until it can be brought down from both the inside and the outside. On the other side is the belief that a Jewish state in Palestine is an inherently criminal endeavor based on theft and colonialism. The illegitimacy of Israel means that it has no right of self defense. It also means that attacks on Israel can not be illegal or immoral because oppressed, indigenous people have limitless rights to resist. The plan is to provoke Israel into responding to intolerable levels of violent harassment while accepting vastly asymmetrical losses as a form of propaganda warfare. The goal is to sway international opinion sufficiently to isolate and sanction Israel out of existence, eventually creating a single Palestinian state with a Jewish minority that can be easily subjugated. Just one man's take on things...

Spirit Airlines only needed $500 million to survive. We’ve already spent $25 billion on the Iran War. Which one directly improves American lives more? A low-cost carrier staying in the market or another war in the Middle East?

@jonfavs Planter is either a Nazi sympathiser or he is outrageously ignorant of history. There are far safer places to allow such a man to struggle and grow than the US Senate.

Graham Platner isn’t just our best and only chance to beat Susan Collins, he’s a good, decent man who’s struggled and grown and is always trying to do better. I hope everyone with reservations takes a little time to get to know the real life version of him, not what the algorithm throws in our faces. Clearly, that’s what so many people in Maine have done - from all different walks of life and political persuasions.

@alfkkifine Counterpoint - It is wrong to kill an innocent human. It is impossible to be partly alive. Something is either alive or not. It is impossible to be partly human. Something is either human or not. A fetus is human. A fetus is alive. A fetus is innocent.

Abortion is valid and okay even if the pregnancy didn’t come from rape or involve a minor. “If the mother simply doesn’t want the baby,” that’s valid. “If she’s not financially, mentally, or physically able to raise a child,” that’s valid. “If the father leaves and she can’t or doesn’t want to raise the baby alone,” that’s valid. “If she’s struggling with addiction that could affect the child,” that’s valid. “If the fetus has serious health issues and abortion is needed,” that’s valid. People need to understand that a woman doesn’t have to be harmed or violated to have control over her own body. If you’re thinking about children, you should also think about the mother. Save the tree, not just the apple.

Today out of @FBINewark: Four individuals have been charged with illegally voting in federal elections and making false statements applying for U.S. citizenship. The individuals - all noncitizens - voted in elections including the 2020 Presidential election, 2022 midterms, and 2024 Presidential election cycles. More to come. Thank you to our investigators and partners for their great work in the case. @DAGToddBlanche

So will it ever be acceptable to stop drawing districts to guarantee a specific racial outcome? If so, by what criteria and who gets to decide? Are there other races that should have the same privilege? Again, who gets to decide? Should we write racial quotas into the constitution like Lebanon? The Speaker must be black. The Majority whip must be East Asian. The Senate Pro Tempore must be non-white Hispanic but may be black Hispanic but only if Cuban.

Why was the 1965 Voting Rights Act so crucial? People forget the history, but check this chart: for 90 years after Reconstruction in the 1870s, there were basically no Blacks in Congress. On purpose. This is the cruel racist history SCOTUS & @GOP Congress are trying to resurrect.

The micro-aid provided by the flotilla is a pretext for opening the blockade to future weapons imports. These flotillas carry negligible quantities of aid into an area that already receives more per capita aid than any entity in history. The point is to run the blockade and clear the path for future killing instruments.

Last night, Israeli forces intercepted and boarded a humanitarian aid flotilla bound for Gaza in international waters off the coast of Greece — unlawfully detaining more than 175 people, including several New Yorkers. My team has been in direct contact with State and Federal partners as we work to confirm the whereabouts and conditions of these New Yorkers. This is a brazen violation of international law. Those detained must be released.

@AndrewCFollett At some point the districts become so non-compact that the residents are no longer geographically connected. We might as well segregate people by whatever characteristics we want and assign virtual districts regardless of where they live.

I am introducing a Constitutional Amendment to end Birthright Citizenship. Under current interpretations of American law, anyone born on American soil automatically becomes a U.S. citizen, regardless of whether the parent was here legally or not.  This is wrong and not at all the intent of those who wrote the 14th Amendment.  We are a country filled with immigrants, and legal immigration is valuable and should be protected. But we are also a country whose borders have been too open and our generosity exploited too often. President Trump has moved to seal our border from illegal immigrants more than any other president.   But we will have more to do. We need to make sure that only children born to legal residents of the U.S. are automatically citizens. I have supported protecting birthright citizenship from abuse since the beginning of my tenure in the Senate, when I cosponsored the Birthright Citizenship Act of 2011, and now I am proposing an amendment to protect United States citizenship in case the Supreme Court fails to address this issue correctly.

It would be a huge mistake to simply deport the terror flotilla. In the very least, they should pay for the expense incurred by Israel in stopping the flotilla. Releasing them with a slap on the wrist is inviting more trouble, culminating in an a navel version of October 7.
