Someone should ask him to confirm that there was no union after all because he seems to think the state of Scotland continued after 1707 and can be held accountable equally with the state of England for the crimes of the Empire. But with or without any union, there was no Scottish state to drive that empire and that slave trade. Maybe he means Scotland as a nation?
