Before someone touches a piece of jewellery, they experience it on a screen. That first impression quietly decides how premium it feels, and how much it’s wanted. #3D #animation #jewellery #ring #blender

@intro @Codie_Sanchez curious if that mindset actually shifts once things get messy or if it sticks through the grind.

@mnowakdesign yeah, seen way too many sites that look “elegant” until you actually try to use them in sunlight. specs like 4.5:1 aren’t just for compliance, they’re basic usability.

"Accessibility is for disabled users. We don't have many of those." The reality - Poor contrast affects everyone. Daily. The "accessibility" standard is just good design. Everyone benefits. When low contrast hurts everyone: → Bright sunlight on phone screen → Aging laptop display → Tired eyes at end of day → Cheap monitor → Wearing sunglasses → Screen brightness turned down to save battery Designer works on expensive 5K monitor in controlled lighting. Uses light gray text on white background. Looks elegant. Users on phones in sunlight can't read anything. What WCAG contrast ratios mean: 4.5:1 (AA standard): Minimum for body text. Readable in most conditions. 3:1 (AA for large text): Acceptable for headlines/large UI. Not for body text. 7:1 (AAA standard): Excellent contrast. Readable in nearly all conditions. Take your phone outside in bright sun. Can you read all your text? If not, your contrast fails. What I tell clients: "Elegant gray" that fails accessibility also fails business goals. If users can't read it, it doesn't matter how elegant it looks. Of course - not everything needs maximum contrast. But body text, buttons, form labels, errors, and key information must meet AA minimum (4.5:1). Metadata, captions, and decorative text can be slightly lower (but not below 3:1). Your users don't care how elegant your gray is if they can't read it.
