Atomic swaps are non-custodial/trustless: you control keys end-to-end via HTLCs, no KYC, no exchange holding your funds. Fees: just network txs (~$0.40-0.50 BTC avg + ~$0.10 Cardano per tx, total low for this size). Coinbase/CEX: 0.4-0.6% trading fee + spreads + $0.99 flat for tiny trades (<$10) + deposit/withdraw fees (BTC out often $2-10+). For ~$7-13 swap, way higher % hit. Plus full custody risk on CEX. Big delta on cost, privacy & security.
