Drivers when someone advocates for bikeable cities: "But what about disabled people? We need to support them?" Answer: "In the Netherlands they get around a lot better because they can use the extensive bike lane network." Drivers: "Nooo, not like that!"

@itsjono @donchokola @YokohamaRides So the answer is for delivery vehicles to clog up neighbouring streets and take much longer to drop off goods due to having to trolley or walk longer distances? Marvellous plan if you dont care about gridlock elsewhere

@donchokola @YokohamaRides So how do they deliver if there is only a cycle lane and pedestrians as shown in the video? Which was my original question.

@JohnJohnStewart @francesca_kms Through traffic always ends up on main roads. When through traffic is prevented turning on and off main roads, traffic flows better. Less accidents, less delays. It’s also distributed differently, so peak times are busier, off peaks are quieter.

Spring has sprung 🌷 LTNs aren’t just about reducing cars, they’re about giving streets back to people. They cut air pollution, make roads safer for kids, and create quieter, more connected communities where walking and cycling become the easy choice.

The Netherlands will invest €1 billion in cycling infrastructure to connect hundreds of thousands of new homes. This will build bike highways and improve bike-train intermodality, enabling residents to access jobs, healthcare, and school without locking them into car dependency.

I reached into the biscuit tin at work yesterday for a delicious Malted Milk, only to discover there was chocolate on the underside! Believe me I’m a lover of chocolate. But I felt this a completely unnecessary edition! Almost a biscuit blasphemy!

Ordered a Smiths T shirt, got a Stone Roses one sent instead so wore that for a night on the piss. Met a woman and she raved about Ian Brown all night. We've been married for 25 years now; I think Stone Roses are shite and have never told the wife.

I appreciate this isn’t the sort of thing a normal person says, but I did an 18-tweet thread this morning, and I left something important out 🤯😂 We’ve all done it right? And the thing I left out was this. Last week, when I was still reeling about the fact that we … /1

@joncstone @BrentCyclists Half a crossing is better than no crossing, but requiring cycle users to travel in the opposing lane to use it is not great, possibly making the crossing more hazardous.

Not sure what’s going on here: these bollards are in the way for foot traffic and make the narrow area at this point even narrower. Is the pavement being removed here?
