My cousin got married at 22. They wanted a house full of kids. She got pregnant within months, they painted a nursery before the first trimester was even over. Then she miscarried. She had a procedure. Woke up groggy. Doctor smiled and said, “Everything’s fine. You can try again soon.” They tried for years. Every negative test felt like a verdict. Her in-laws started making comments. Her husband grew distant. Eventually he left. Said he “wanted a real family.” He remarried within a year. Two babies back to back. She thought her body had betrayed her. In her late 50s, after new medical transparency laws made it easier to request old hospital files, she applied for her records. Buried in the notes from that miscarriage was a line: “Complication during procedure. Uterine perforation. Significant scarring.” No one had explained it. No follow-up. No referral. No honesty. She spent three decades blaming herself for something that happened to her. Some women are told their bodies failed them. Sometimes the truth is — someone else did.

I was high on India’s growth story. But not anymore. For years, I thought we were on the right path, it’s only that we’re a poor country (thanks to colonisation) but as our income grows everything will change. And that’s going to happen soon. We’ll have great infrastructure, cleaner roads, efficient systems and whatnot. But lately I’ve been feeling it’s just a story being fed to us, the change isn’t actually coming. The slow growth that we see, that’s not going to change anytime soon- in fact, it might get worse. Simply because corruption is too ingrained in the system and scarcity mindset supersedes our desire to do better for each other. Every single time. It’s not our fault. Good behaviour starts at the top. When our politicians and their rallies leave roads dirty, I can’t expect an average Indian to take the ‘Clean India Mission’ seriously. It pinches me when I pay tax because I know it’s not just being used to build better infrastructure, it’s going to someone’s pocket too. I would love to pay more tax, but all I ask for is more transparency into where it’s being used. Every time I interact with a govt institution, I am left in awe of how inefficient and opaque the processes are. It’s a nightmare to get things done if you have good ethics. ‘Additional fee’ is almost always expected to move anything. And there's unnecessary focus on language that also sometimes dictates how you're treated. Just recently, my neighbour lost their only son (22 yrs old) to a pothole accident, within 6 hours that particular pothole was covered, while all others around it weren’t. And within weeks, that one pothole is also back to the same condition. Imagine how they must feel. We talk about taking care of our citizens- it’s almost a JOKE. My friends keep telling me govt is focussing on bigger problems right now, but I have never really understood what those are. If you know the answer- please educate me. With AI and humanoids taking over in the next decade or so, we’re pretty much doomed. We will end up with millions of jobless Indians and I don’t expect the govt to do anything about it. Maybe they’ll prevent humanoids from becoming a reality in India the same way they don’t want self-driving cars. The only way I see us doing better is if entrepreneurs take charge of building better systems, funding research, improving healthcare and driving more innovation against all odds. All around me, young ambitious Indians are driving real change, and I am so freakin proud of our entrepreneurs. We need to celebrate them more for trying, for failing. For privileged Indians like me, we live in a bubble of our mostly privatised world and that’s nice because 80% of our time is spent at home/office. So I am not complaining about my life, this is not a rant. I truly want my country to do better, and I don’t see it happening rn. I'd love to know where I'm wrong. Until then, I hope India is thriving in some other universe, because I really believe she can.

Requesting the folks at Shopify to please step in and help figure things out. We too have received the trademark notice. And the deadline to fix it is 6 days away. Otherwise, our app will be delisted from the Shopify app store. Just like that. After 5 years of being on the app store and complying with every request or warning or mildly threatening email about fixing something "or else". Quite a violent way to communicate, I feel. Like this is the best a multi billion corporation can do? It does not make any sense @harleyf @ShopifyDevs since the app store is full of apps with "Facebook" and "Instagram" in their app titles and descriptions. Meta is forcing "WhatsApp" named apps to remove the word because they have launched their own WhatsApp app for Shopify. When a big guy flexes, we small people don't have any way out. Except if another big guy ( looking at you @Shopify @tobi ) is there to stand-up and meditate and come up with a more peaceful and decent way to go about it.

We have been building WhatsApp integration for Shopify for the last 5 years due to a Trademark notice from Meta or its representative, Shopify requires us not use “WhatsApp” even as a description of our app.The whole Shopify App is built for WhatsApp. @tobi @ShopifyDevs @harleyf

My relationship with procrastination changed completely once I realised that all it's trying to do is protect me. Protect me from some uncomfortable feeling - like fear of failure because what if the thing I'm doing does not work out the way I secretly hope for in my heart, like what if the thing I'm doing doesn't turn out perfect the way it is in my brain, and so on. The relationship changed when I stopped fighting procrastination. Like as if a thing that comes naturally from me should be treated like an enemy. And instead I started listening to the voice of procrastination. "What are you trying to protect me from?" And once I heard its concerns, I started thanking this energy. "Thank you for caring so much. For trying so hard to keep me feeling safe." And then I spoke back to this energy. "But you don't need to worry. I am ready to handle this. I care about this thing, that's why I want it to work. But even if it does not work right away, it doesn't mean that I am a failure. Or I screwed up. It just means there is more to this journey. And I trust that I will handle the upsets and figure it out. And now, I ask you to trust in me that I will figure it out." And the voice of procrastination, melted away, probably because it finally felt heard and relieved. It's done it's job. Thank you procrastination.

my churn is down from 24% last month to now 15% churn this month for @postbridge_ here's the top things i did that (i think) moved the needle downwards: -> removed ability to buy without signing up first (low intent and way too many support mails caused) -> added onboarding (had none before) to guide new users when they first land in the dashboard to complete KEY ACTIONS that bring them closer to the aha moment: Connect accounts section before they pay, and checklist with "create a post" after they pay + onboarding call link/offer to show i care! -> added cancel flow (none before) so when users go to cancel it asks them why did they cancel? (better than asking reasons and having multi select as that data ends up being random or all the first option) + added book a call option to cancellation page to see if maybe i can fix it! (and to show i care!)... 1 actual good response is worth 1000 survey multi select responses in this section. -> started talking to my customers!!! (user on trial + users who are already paying), i put this off for almost a year but its been the best thing ive done to realign myself with providing the people who are already 1 foot in the door, helped me realize what i need to work on most each day -> spend a week cracking down on performance: i opened up my network tab and realized i was sending so much data on certain routes, and the overall app experience needed to be faster on mobile devices. I tackled some major bottlenecks here and then added a fully new mobile layout so its MUCH MUCH more usable for that subset of users. its also just SOO Much faster now with my backend upgrades and general performance improvements (80% was 20% of the work though here, as it goes) -> increased prices on higher tier plans: while i still offer a $9/month i realized that i was undercharging for the other plans and its still a great price but more reflective of the value @postbridge_. this will be a long term gain especially in MRR and churn as people willing to pay more usually have a higher intent to stick around longer too. (real pain to solve) -> added posthog to see user sessions, can then see what users get stuck on and where they are before they go to /cancel (tons of low hanging fruit here, still more to tackle) - posthog also helped me find errors and bugs that i wouldnt have found otherwise (and fix them) -> defined my ICP, through user calls ive collected lots more data and now have a better idea who i am serving and who is my IDEAL customer. it hasnt helped yet directly but long term this is where ill be able to keep growing targeting this ideal customer profile. havent done anything with this info just yet though. i also did 30-50 other small things, i fixed tons of bugs, i answered every email with love and care and have been resolving things very quickly while making the backend of the platform much more efficient and stable (better logging, better infra, better ways to remedy bugs) and i think these small paper cuts of things also is extremely important. there are no magic pills, its a bunch of small things, added up, and my product is still far from perfect but its 2x better at least than it was last month performance wise. every day i woke up and tried something, it was messy and mostly i felt i wasnt sure im doing the right thing but i still got some results this way! and its just the start sorry i haven't posted much about this in a while, i feel much better posting this than random slop so thanks for reading, hopefully it was helpful keep going legends <3

@devenbhooshan These are based on engagement, you say. So essentially, social media isn't the place to understand nuance. it's more like a loudspeaker for extremes :/

Been building a social media tool for 2 years. This is what I hate most about the current scene. Extreme content goes viral. Balanced takes get buried. Everyone uses the worst failures OR the biggest successes to make sweeping claims. Delhi floods = entire country failing. UPI payments = we're tech superpowers. Bridge collapse = all infrastructure is bad. GDP growth = everything is perfect. Tejas Express = world-class railway infra Anti-establishment people find the worst examples. Use them to show the country is doomed. Pro-establishment people find the best examples. Use them to show everything is amazing. It is everywhere - India, US, Europe. It seems like we've completely lost the ability to talk about anything without cherry-picking the most dramatic cases. It's a global sickness. Social media has changed how we discuss complex issues. The truth? Most things are neither completely broken nor completely fixed. But that doesn't get engagement.
