Reposting this in the light of the imminent vote on AD - a Times columnist saying the quiet but out loud, that old, dying & disabled people *should* be killed prematurely - to save us the cost of caring for them. If that doesn’t cause pause for thought, I don’t know what will.

@kieranryanphoto Pathogenic E. coli would be BSL-2, and some SARS-CoV-2 can now be handled at BSL-2 rather than 3 (who.int/publications/i…) but yes, the difference in effort (and money spent) to protect athletes from one and not the other is astounding.

Some people asked in the comments why you should not exercise for at least 6-8 weeks after getting #COVID19. Researchers like @RobWust have recently shown that SARS-CoV-2 infection can induce changes in skeletal muscle structure and function, which can be worsened after exercise.
