I am a finalist in the International Independent Author Network Book of the Year Awards. This is an INTERNATIONAL competition for indie and small press authors. International? I am still blown away by this. The Colonel's Contraband competed against authors from all over the world and reached the finals! Me, a little girl, grounded for three months when I was ten years old, who picked up a pencil and paper to cure boredom, wrote an internationally recognized book. Me. That little girl who wrote stories about fair maidens who fell in love with dark princes who lived in underwater kingdoms. @SmartdollLand The IBTC bust? (itty bitty titty commitee)

A little while back, I shared some thoughts about the painted headlights on our Cocoa and Coffee busts — explaining that we intentionally went with exaggerated tones, much like the shapes themselves (which could cause back pain in real life). The goal was to keep things stylized rather than overly realistic. That said, many of you continued to reach out and ask if we could try something that still felt true to the overall aesthetic, but leaned a little more grounded in tone. So, starting with the next runs of Cocoa and Coffee busts with headlights, we’ve made a subtle tweak to deepen the coloration. It’s still stylized — we’re not aiming for full realism — but the new tone feels more cohesive with what we currently do for Cinnamon and Tea. We hope this strikes the balance you were hoping for. As always, thank you for being part of this ongoing process :-) By the way, the smaller bust shown in the photo is our new Small Bust with Headlights — though we’re still figuring out a good name for it - ideas? #smartdoll

@AdrianneNovels It's doubly bad when you are an editor, lol. One book stands out... the random tense shifts made it so I couldn't even get to page 2.

Has being a writer made it difficult for you to read? I am not talking about time. If a book is poorly written, my writers brain becomes fixated on the writing and I cannot enjoy the story. I need advice. The last few months have been epic. Large crowds at my signings with return readers. Sold 75 book. Received some AMAZING reviews. But I still have fewer than a 1000 followers and less than 30 reviews per book.
