Angus Taylor has decided to only help people who don't need help. People struggling to get a home: He'll undo Labor's solid plan. People buying multiple established properties: He'll let them continue the housing bubble. He literally wants homes to become less affordable.

The U.S. debt has just crossed $39 trillion. Trump alone is responsible for almost 30% of it. So far, Trump has added roughly $12–13 trillion to the debt across his two terms in office. That is nearly 30% of ALL U.S. national debt accumulated since 1789. Just think about this: over 250 years, 44 presidents accounted for 70% of the debt. In less than 6 years, Trump alone added 30%. That is about 18 times more than the average U.S. president in history. He is truly the worst presidents in U.S. history, causing more harm to the country than anyone else. And we will be paying for his actions long after he is gone.

Dear Paul, Timmy either never bothered to verify the claim before repeating it to a national audience, which is grossly irresponsible, or he already knew the “story” was a crock of shit and pushed it anyway. If he knew what we know, and he should, then the entire narrative falls apart. If we could uncover facts that we have not yet decided to publish, then a Shadow Minister certainly should have undertaken the due diligence expected of someone holding that office. Either way, he has fallen well short of the standard reasonably expected of a Shadow Minister. Regardless, his blanket “half your business” or “47%” claim is entirely false.

An Open Letter to Tim Wilson MP @TimWilsonMP Sunday 24 May 2026 – 11:44 AEDT Re: National Press Club Address 20/5/26 Dear Mr Wilson, On 20 May 2026, during your address to the National Press Club, you referred to a young entrepreneur named Sienna Jovcevski and her business, Tweeny Skin. According to the official transcript and video of your speech, you stated: “At the age of 12, Sienna set up Tweeny Skin in her bedroom.” “Built after school, packed orders on weekends … reinvested basically every dollar back into the business.” “Yet while Sienna finishes her HSC, she has learned she has a shareholder who wants to take half the reward of her effort.” You later referred to this “half” as a potential 47% tax outcome when questioned by ABC journalist David Speers. Mr Speers specifically asked you: “The government says existing exemptions for small business would remain. So how exactly would Sienna lose half her profit?” You responded: “Well it depends on when Sienna chooses to opt out of her business and sell it and for what price…” You later added: “It could, depending on the exit strategy and price, ultimately face up to 47%.” Mr Speers then asked: “But is it possible she could pay no capital gains tax as well?” To which you replied: “We’re dealing with hypotheticals… It depends on when she decides to exit, it depends on what she sells for, it depends on what stage of life she’s at based on the current application of the law.” Given the seriousness and specificity of the claims made in a nationally broadcast address, and the potential for those claims to alarm small business owners and young entrepreneurs, it is reasonable for Australians to seek clarification as to the factual basis of the example you presented. Accordingly, could you please clarify the following: 1/. Prior to referencing Sienna Jovcevski and Tweeny Skin in your speech, did you make any enquiries regarding the legal ownership structure of the business? 2/. Did you seek to determine whether the business operates as: → a sole trader, → a company, → a discretionary trust, → or another legal structure? 3/. Did you seek to determine whether the business is legally owned, operated, or controlled by Sienna Jovcevski personally, or by other individuals, entities, or family structures associated with the business? 4/. Did you make any enquiries as to whether existing small business CGT concessions may apply to that business in the event of a future sale? 5/. Did you obtain or review any information regarding the approximate turnover, profitability, or scale of the business before presenting it as a national example of the impact of proposed CGT changes? 6/. Did you receive any professional taxation or legal advice supporting the proposition that the business would realistically face an effective 47% tax outcome under the circumstances you described? 7/. Given your acknowledgment that the example was hypothetical and dependent upon numerous unknown future variables, do you accept that your original framing may have conveyed a misleading level of certainty to viewers? 8/. Have you since sought clarification regarding whether your example accurately reflected the operation of Australia’s current small business #CGT concession framework? These are reasonable questions arising from statements made by a Federal Member of Parliament during a nationally televised address on taxation policy. Australians are entitled to expect that examples used in public policy debates, particularly those involving taxation and small business, are properly verified, accurately framed, and presented with appropriate factual context. We look forward to your clarification. Sincerely, The Noisy Trunk On behalf of many Australians

The dawn of 24/7 solar power. Cost of battery storage is dropping at an astonishing speed. Costs of storing solar or wind energy have fallen more than 50% since 2022, 27% only last year alone. This is an absolute game changer. It turns around the economics of power. It makes solar and wind competitive not only to coal, but to gas. In April 2026 for the first time the world produced more electricity from solar and wind than from gas. Solar and wind are economically competitive to gas 95% of the time in giants as China, India and Brazil Financial Times have more: lnkd.in/eyvx2bw5

Our society cannot survive the current administration. We have a kleptocratic authoritarian in power who is picking our pockets and ushering in the greatest redistribution of wealth in a generation; literally stealing from the poor to give to the rich while monetizing his own presidency to the tune of BILLIONS. "Golden age of America" my ass. This is a 21st century "GILDED AGE." Sadly, MAGA doesn't understand the difference because it would require a basic knowledge of US history. These corporate sycophants, CEOs and pro-Trump tech oligarchs are modern day ROBBER BARONS. They are getting richer and richer while offering Trump bribes, lavish gifts and investments in exchange for regulatory laxity, access to the president, free rides to China, and economic and political favors. Trump is concentrating economic power and resources into the hands of a small group of rich, ruling classmen and techno-elitists while the rest of us are struggling to make ends meet. Yes, Trump is providing the rich and corporations with huge tax breaks and incentives while the American people suffer under the economic tyranny of his regime. He's cutting funding for domestic programs and depriving millions of Americans of their access to healthcare, food assistance, and the social safety net. And what's he doing with the money he's "saving" from gutting these programs? He's certainly not fixing the debt, oh no, he's redistributing that money upwards!!! All the while, he's using taxpayer dollars to fund his personal vanity projects and is suing his own government for a MASSIVE taxpayer funded payout into a slush fund that he secretly controls. The corruption is unprecedented! Trump's policies are exploding the debt and deficit and accelerating rampant economic and wealth inequality. Trump has helped pave the way for the top 1% of stockholders to own more wealth and assets than the bottom 99% of investors. So when Trump and Republicans even bother to talk about improving the economy, they're only talking about improving the lives and growing the fortunes of the richest among us! When Trump and the White House brag about the stockmarket, they're not only failing to acknowledge the underlying data that reveals deepening socioeconomic inequalities, but they're also ignoring the fact that a vast portion of this country's wealth is concentrated at the top. Combine this with Trump's refusal to properly regulate AI, and you've got yourself a recipe for disaster. A dot-com era like bubble that can send the market crashing at any given moment in response to a multitude of contingencies! Trump said he would "drain the swamp..." HE BOUGHT THE FUCKING SWAMP! He owns the swamp, he IS the swamp, and you're wading around in it chest fucking deep! The current economic reality for most Americans is NOT reflected in the state of today's over-inflated stockmarket. It's not reflected in the skyrocketing value of these monstrous, multi national corporations, these tech oligarchs, and these under regulated AI companies and predatory financial institutions. It's not reflected in the soaring wealth of these corrupt CEOs, these new age robber barons and these thieving billionaires with deep political and financial ties to the president. Remember that the last two economic crises emerged under George W Bush and Donald Trump; both Republican presidents. And the signs leading up to these financial disasters weren't nearly as troubling and ominous as they are now.

If you're wondering how the recently resigned #NACC Commissioner, Paul Brereton, spent his time in his $800,000 p.a job, at least some of it was dedicated to writing to the Inspector General about some individual called, Ronni Salt's, twitter activities. After the first #robodebt decision failure, we encouraged people to exercise their democratic right to complain about that decision to the Inspector General of the NACC. Commissioner Brereton tried to head these many hundreds of incoming complaints off at the pass, by writing to the Inspector General and attempting to categorise this factual information dissemination as "spam" (one assumes in an attempt to weaken the validity of incoming complaints) (foi credit and thanks: Kangaroo Court)

Too on point not to share. This is great, but too bad the Orange Felon’s enablers won’t let him see it. This Australian's reply to #Trump's rant about “NATO not being there for America” is perfect. "Mate. You run a country with 600,000 homeless people sleeping on the street tonight. A country where 40% of adults can't cover a $400 emergency without borrowing money. A country where insulin costs more than a car payment and people are rationing it to survive. A country where medical debt is the number 1 cause of bankruptcy. A country where women are dying in hospital car parks because doctors are too scared of abortion laws to treat a miscarriage. You lock up more of your own citizens than any nation on earth. More than China. More than Russia. More than North Korea. The land of the free has 2 million people in cages, and a quarter of them haven't even been convicted of anything. They're just too poor to make bail. Your life expectancy is going backwards. You're the only developed nation where that's happening. Your infant mortality rate is worse than Cuba's. Your kids do active shooter drills between maths and English while you sell the gunmaker's stock to your mates. Your minimum wage hasn't moved in 15 years. You've got teachers working 2 jobs and veterans sleeping under bridges and you just spent a trillion dollars flattening a country that didn't attack you. And you’ve got a convicted felon, adjudicating raping, paedophile protecting, porn star shagging insurrectionist running the biggest dumpster fire war campaign since the Taliban thanked you very much for losing again. And you're calling Greenland poorly run? Greenland has universal healthcare. Free education. One of the lowest incarceration rates in the world. Nobody goes bankrupt there because they got sick. Nobody dies in a waiting room because their insurance said no. 'NATO wasn't there when we needed them." When exactly was that, champ? September 11? Because NATO invoked Article 5 for the first and only time in history FOR YOU. Soldiers from dozens of countries deployed, fought, bled, and died in Afghanistan FOR YOU. Australia wasn't even in NATO and we still showed up. For 20 years. And you pulled out at 2am without telling anyone and left them to deal with the mess. So maybe before you start calling other countries poorly run, have a look at your own backyard, you spray-tanned aluminium siding salesman. The only thing poorly run in this picture is your f----- mouth." - Tony Locke

Oh, perfect, so after Trump blew billions playing Rambo, got 13 Americans killed, along with Iranian babies, and spiked gas prices just to “own Obama,” he’s now crawling back to the same deal he called the worst ever? Master negotiator strikes again! The art of the deal was apparently “tear it up and beg for it back later.” Truly the greatest comeback in history, folks.

HOLY CRAP Trump actually accomplished a miracle. Here is what he got out of Iran: - Reduce its stockpile of enriched uranium by about 98% - Limit uranium enrichment to 3.67% purity (far below weapons-grade) - Cut the number of installed centrifuges by roughly two-thirds - Only enrich uranium at one declared site (Natanz) - Stop enrichment activities at Fordow and convert it into a research facility - Redesign the Arak heavy-water reactor so it could not easily produce weapons-grade plutonium - Ship out or dilute excess enriched uranium Allow extensive inspections by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Permit continuous monitoring of nuclear facilities and supply chains - Accept “snap” inspections under expanded monitoring rules - Avoid building new heavy-water reactors for years - Stay within strict limits on uranium stockpile size and centrifuge development for set periods ranging from 10–25 years Ooops, sorry! That was the JCPOA that Obama signed with Iran, only to have him tear it up, kill 140 kids, get hundreds of Americans injured, 13 killed, and gas prices to surge 50%.
