I think people are totally forgetting what our team would have looked like if we kept KAT. We would have had to Lose Naz Reid for nothing or trade him for a 1st, and we would never of had Donte, Randle, and Beringer. Our Roster would literally be: Ayo Ant McDaniels KAT Gobert Zero bench. That group ain’t doing anything in the west. In the east they would likely make the East Finals. East is weak still. Tim Connelly made a smart move. Now he needs to make another smart move this summer and potentially even a gamble.

The Timberwolves traded KAT because they didn't want all their eggs in one basket as Anthony Edwards entered his prime. Keeping him would've guaranteed both NAW & Naz leaving. No Donte in that reality either. If the Ant/KAT/Jaden/Rudy core ran into issues, they'd be stuck.

@joelvmoran The general public / media still ignoring what Tim Connelly said in black in white after the KAT trade. The move was made to get below the 2nd apron (not to save money), but to create roster and trade flexibility to pair ant with another superstar. Randle was never the end game.
