TORONTO, ONTARIO - Three men have been arrested following a six-month investigation into a series of daytime break-and-enters at residential buildings across Toronto and York Region. The investigation, dubbed Project Compass, began in September 2025 after police identified a pattern of daytime break-ins targeting high-value items including jewellery, precious metals, cash, and heirlooms. More than 30 homes were hit with total losses exceeding $1 million. Investigators say the suspects wore construction clothing to blend in and avoid suspicion from security staff and residents. Once inside buildings, they allegedly forced entry into units and targeted small, easily concealed valuables. Police say the group used a newer-model silver Jeep Compass during the offences, which helped link incidents across multiple neighbourhoods. All three appeared in court on Monday morning. Mindia Jintcharashvli, 41, of Vaughan, Valeri Mandaria, 35, of Vaughan, and Imeda Khabuliani, 49, of Toronto, are each charged with: ❌ Break and Enter ❌ Possession of Proceeds of Crime ❌ Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence Anyone who noticed missing valuables, suspicious activity, or unfamiliar individuals dressed as construction workers in their building is asked to contact Toronto Police.
