@SouthernDowns can you pls explain the premature euthanasia of your pound dogs when rescues were rehoming them? Why place stress on vets? why you are relying on Bris based volunteer nfps to rescue your dogs instead of finding homes for them yourself? Do better @animaljusticeAU

Did the Jews take land from Arab Palestinians in the 1940s? Was there a “dispossession” of Arab Palestinians by Jews? No. But Jews did buy land, legally, from Ottoman/Turkish landowners. Arabs sold the land (above market rate) to Jews. Some of the renters/tenants were upset their landlords sold off the land to Jews. But that’s not dispossession. These are the people who today are known as Palestinians and who claim they have an original interest in Israeli land. They never claim they own it, by the way— they just claim their ancestors lived on it. BTW Israel keeps all the land purchase records on file in a safe place. All land was lawfully acquired from Arabs under their own laws. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jewish_la… Don’t let the Rashida Tlaibs of the world lie to you.

We are now learning that between 3000-4000 Palestinians came from Gaza to commit the massacres and NOT all were members of the Hamas terror organization. That means regular Gazans came with Hamas and committed these brutalities. What kind of society breeds people who behave like this?

@Afg613 @Horror1403 And while you are learning (the rest of the speech is widely available, I suggest you read it ) @horror1403 I am truly sorry for your loss, your pain, your fear and the unbelievable tragedy that has unfolded. More people stand with you than you think.

@Horror1403 Gaza is flattened by your govt’s bombs and shelling while 40 km away the Israelites are clubbing, dining out and enjoying their lives. Go tell your sob stories to the 5000+ people your army just killed off. Your post is biased to the max. Can’t respect it.

@SCynic1 Thank you Simon for this post. If you would please forward it to the BBC, ABC and CNN because a number of journalists in their employ seem not to understand this despite Natasha Hausdorff’s equally excellent explanation. Certain governments could also use a refresher.

From the debate in the Lords yesterday on Israel & Gaza. Guglielmo Verdirame: professor of international law at the King’s College London. “There has been a lot of talk about proportionality in the law on self-defence. I refer to the words that the noble Lord, Lord Pannick, 1/

@MarkFurnerMP good afternoon minister, 17 dogs due to be PTS tomorrow in Qld rural pounds which say they are full. Rescues are struggling to help, adoptions and fostering has decreased and dumping increased. The strain on pound staff and vets is incredible. What is the plan?

@charchar198 It never stops. The only thing I have found that overrides it is physical exercise. After a bootcamp sesh (which I do after work) I am so exhausted that I’m out like a light. Oh and a Friday night wine sesh with my bestie’s helps too (but exercise is better).

@EmiratesSupport I think this is a lot more than a frustrating flight delay which understandably happens from time to time. This was on a different level and the lack of care and consideration demonstrated by Emirates is really astonishing. I thought you were better than that. I will certainly DM

@daniellelucef @emirates @EmiratesSupport Truly terrible. And you have a connector up to Mt Isa as well. I can’t believe that is the best a supposed world class airline can do. Still no apologies or explanation. The queues are enormous now. I hope you get home safely.

@daniellelucef @emirates With queue jumpers, no food or water offered, to have to haggle with unsympathetic, unapologetic staff for another flight some 5 hours in the future and for all that bother there’s a meal voucher which not all places take and it has its own ‘special’ reduced menu. Appalling!

@daniellelucef @emirates This about sums it up. #emirates delays our flight from stanstead, does not organise our connections, refuses to hold the gates open for our connecting flight even though we had landed and could have made the flight which was delayed anyway, stand in queue for 2.5 hours or more

@Qantas will now be rethinking my long haul options on account of your partnership with @emirates and it’s treatment of your customers and the lack of care and regard shown at Dubai airport today. Truly disgusting.

still baffled as to why @emirates could not hold an already delayed flight to brisbane for connecting passengers who were in the building struggling to make their connections on account of emirates delaying flights out of London! Poor form. Still in a sodding queue.
