@pbakaus Outstanding value. I'm on windows with a 4090, website is lagging a bit, could be one effect in the preview hogging compute perhaps? Huge Thanks!

Web gaming is about to get very big. Within the next couple of years we will likely see a new “Newgrounds-style” ecosystem emerge. A web-native distribution layer for games that competes with platforms like Steam. There will be plenty of low-quality content at first, but the best projects will rise quickly, just like they did in the early internet era. Several trends are converging at the same time. WebGL and browser graphics are improving rapidly. Advanced shaders, GPU pipelines, and even server-side rendering make it possible to stream sophisticated visuals without requiring a powerful GPU on the player’s machine. At the same time, developers are increasingly frustrated with traditional distribution. Shipping to Steam means surrendering roughly 30 percent of revenue and operating within a closed ecosystem. The web offers a path to direct distribution and ownership. But there’s something more interesting going on. Games are becoming large-scale simulations. At their core they are agent-based models (ABMs), which are just systems where thousands or millions of actors interact according to rules and generate emergent outcomes. This is an area researchers have been exploring for decades, especially institutions like the Santa Fe Institute. Now these same ideas are colliding with modern AI and massive compute. The result will be a new kind of platform where games double as large-scale simulations of economics, warfare, industrial systems, and social behavior. Mass-scale agent orchestration inside persistent worlds creates enormous datasets for strategy, game theory, and machine learning. The intersection between gaming, AI, and simulation may end up being one of the most valuable technological frontiers of the next decade.

Just spent a full session getting a Three.js multiplayer arena running on 2.0 with Claude Code. Vanilla JS, cubes syncing positions across browser windows — once it clicked, it's genuinely real-time and impressive. Hardest-won tip for anyone starting: .withConfirmedReads(false) on your connection builder. V2.0 defaults to waiting for WAL flush before pushing subscription updates. On Docker/WSL2 that's ~1s latency. We were one line away from ripping it out entirely. Other gotchas we hit so others don't have to: - f32/f64 columns store NULL in the TS runtime — use i32 with a scale factor - Generated reducer bindings take a single object param, not positional args - No Math.random() or Date.now() in the V8 sandbox — use ctx.random() / ctx.timestamp - esm.sh can't serve the SDK — esbuild + spacetime generate locally The AI I was building with literally told me "the core issue is likely SpacetimeDB's reducer pipeline itself" and recommended I tear it out. It was one config flag. The tech is legit. 🫡

Improved terrain brushing tools. Paint with mouse or finger. Camera no longer rotates when brushing is active. Added brush strength slider. UI is also tweaked to fit in portrait mode. It was overlapping the virtual dpad and jump button. Test it yourself: sebbbi.github.io/LimitedDetail/

i have some more data to report out from the mushroom trip. but it's sensitive data. and I don't want anyone who's not interested in this to have to see it. so if you want to know, scroll down. respect others and do not repost it or talk about it in the comments. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . i'm trusting you to be responsible. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . we are citizens of an online community. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . we must build bonds of trust with each other. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . and some people just don't want to know about this stuff . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . so this is your opportunity to respect others . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . it is a strong human desire to not respect others . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . but you can definitely choose to respect others . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . one final self check to make sure you're up to the task . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ok here is the situation, since the mushroom trip I’ve been having multiple spontaneous erections every day. something I haven’t experienced since childhood. the possible reason why is the mushrooms reduced my cognitive inhibition, increased parasympathetic tone, and increased brain entropy, leading to a more flexible, youthful nervous system. this week i'll be measuring my nighttime erections to assess any change there remember, night time erections are had by men and women every single night and are one of the strongest predictors of overall health. now, recall your commitment, do not repost this and do not mention it in the comments. we need to respect others who don't want to know about this.

@NeverSinkDev Solo Self Found. Faster access to better items is much appreciated. Less than 500 Hours in the game. Delve is fun and provides specific rare rolls like minion or elemental stuff. If crafting was less of a slot machine sim then maybe id feel different. Game is Golden though.

I have a problem with the Keepers of the Flame league. There's a LOT to like about Breach v2. - The encounters are fun! - The genesis tree is a great concept! BUT: I seriously dislike how keepers and last patches in general have made access to INCREDIBLY well rolled items almost trivial. Items with 3-4x T1-T2 mods are now almost trivial to access in many cases. This happened in mercenaries, memory items, shipping in kingsmarch and is now in an extreme state in Keepers. Items that were previously Why this is a problem: - Rare drops pretty much don't matter at all anymore in the endgame - The system itself has made similar systems like memory strands, shipping gear obsolete - Fractured drops barely matter anymore - Expedition, Delve & Ritual are on all life support - Sources of exotic mods like incursion are barely relevant. Rares with mods that usually would require thousands of chaos orbs or a well structured strategy using fractured items and different systems are now sold for less than 10 chaos... while 5-6 linked. Personally I always found Expedition/Rog to have the perfect balance of effort, reward and randomness. The league gives you control, you occasionally create great items, but it doesn't make everything else obsolete. I don't think anything can or should be done anymore in this league. Now don't get me wrong. I LOVE the keepers-tree. I think it should stay in one form or another. The other branches of the tree are pretty nice. However, I think the equipment-branch needs to become way weaker. Changes I'd like to see NEXT LEAGUE: - T16 monsters becomes slightly weaker to account for defenses being less accessible - Keepers tree stays, but the tree doesn't spit out endless 6links and 3x T1+ items anymore. It should still do so rarely, but not with the overwhelming odds it does right now. - Shipping&Keepers are less likely to roll T1 bases and T1-T2 mods. - Memory items become a little bit more rare - Shipping provides less well rolled items What do you think? Do you share the same sentiment?

While Grok is garnering attention with Imagine, it’s equally powerful at coding. I wanted to add a morph feature to an existing 3D visual and was able to code it with Grok 4 in just a few minutes. Built with Three.js, WebGL, and GLSL shaders, the scene features rotating bodies, morphing forms, and luminous arcs. Interactive controls trigger resonance bursts, time shifts, and theme transitions. Demo/code in reply. 👇

Is it me, or GPT-5 is not that good? It's slow, and it wrote vanilla JavaScript in a <script/> tag in my NextJS project. Surprisingly, it's the more PR release. My X feed and YouTube are full of clips from the keynote. I switched back to claude-4-sonnet for now.
