San Diego just raised the bar. Philadelphia. Atlanta. Dallas. St. Paul. DC. San Francisco. London. Tel Aviv. Scotland. Now San Diego. 7 million Americans. Counting. Every coast. Every state. Every timezone. Across the Atlantic. Across the Pacific. No Kings doesn’t need a permit to go global.

How can Piker be driving a wedge in the Democratic Party when 55% of Democrats don't even know he exists? media4.manhattan-institute.org/wp-content/upl…

New: @hasanthehun is driving a wedge in the Democratic Party. @playbookdc surveyed 14 potential '28 Dem candidates, asking whether they would appear on a livestream with Piker if invited. Only 3 definitively said they would. Plus: my interview w/ Piker. politico.com/newsletters/pl…

@admcrlsn Main topic aside, crazy how traditional media and social media have created environments where a sentence like “completely forgotten” a major attack in our country are forgotten after two weeks… We, ourselves, obviously play a part in allowing that to happen too.

Ok after some reflection and talking to people (including locals) that are smarter than me, points 3 and 4 seem way too cynical/galaxy brained. There are local factors at play, and it’s probably not some strategic 4D chess to triangulate a middle path to the nomination between El-Sayed and Stevens. I had completely forgotten that the West Bloomfield Temple Israel attack — where 140 preschoolers could have been blown up — was two weeks ago. And that for many for whom that is still raw — even in a mostly very progressive Jewish community like that — Piker’s presence nearby (both are within about an hour drive) would be raising the temperature, not lowering it. I think the difference in encouraging people to go on a guest on Rogan/Piker type streams — who have said controversial things in the past — and actively campaigning with them is an important distinction. Some may infer the latter as an endorsement of their views. Which, no matter what you think of Hasan, you have to admit that some of what he has said could be hurtful to some Jews at a time when many are already deeply concerned for the safety of them and their children. For those who think McMorrow is bought and paid for by AIPAC, I would like to remind them that they are expressly backing Stevens in this race, and that McMorrow has stressed that she has not and will not take money from AIPAC. Anyway, I’m willing to bet it’s not a strategic move, it’s a line in the sand for her. If you disagree with what she said, that’s fine. Your voice will be louder than those that appreciate what’s she’s doing because that’s what algorithms do — promote conflict. Important to remember that Twitter is not real life. I like Abdul, and totally get why people are voting for him. But let’s not jump to the worst conclusions about other candidates just because tensions are high.
Adam Carlson@admcrlsn

1) I think people in this online echo chamber majorly overestimate how much normal people/Michiganders know and care about Hasan Piker. 2) I’ve had major issues with some things he’s said, but IMO he’s not in the same realm as Nick Fuentes. 3) This pivot from McMorrow seems like a strategic bet that Stevens voters are more gettable than El-Sayed voters, and maybe that more undecideds are deciding between McMorrow and Stevens. And that she was never going to outflank Abdul on being progressive or on Israel-Gaza — essentially conceding the left lane and trying to chart a Goldilocks path to the nomination. 4) Whether intentional or not, I think this will make it more likely that AIPAC will turn their fire on El-Sayed alone, rather than both McMorrow and El-Sayed (which seemed to be their plan before).

"By making everything just a small daily story instead of telling the broader one about this guy being out of his mind and a danger to all of us, journalists show they’re still worried about coming across as partisan. They don’t want to make themselves part of the story by calling him out. They’re afraid he will direct his deranged behavior toward them. They’d rather write down what he says and assume the American people can figure it out on their own. But obviously some can’t." publicnotice.co/p/mark-jacob-i…
