@ING_Aust Hi there - I switched to the new app but I haven't seen push notifications on iOS working yet for withdrawals. I tested an osko transfer and that worked, but I was expecting purchases, PayPal withdrawals or direct debits to also show up. This is expected behaviour?

@SnazzyLabs I’ve used the 16 inch M1 Pro for pretty heavy duty video editing work since its release, genuinely can’t imagine needing to upgrade for at least another 3 years.

I feel like now that we have effective medical treatment for obesity there is going to be a big cultural reckoning with how poorly we've treated fat people and how unreasonable and cruel our expectations of fat people have been

@tvaziri I think people seek comfort in the idea that a trend they don’t like is a technological or logistical limitation instead of a creative choice.

I feel it coming on again, so best to get ahead of yet another wave of: "Why are so many movies and shows so dark these days? Is it because of digital cameras?" No, it's not because of digital cameras. It's because of fashion. It's a trend.

@mattzollerseitz This is frequently reported upon but it also comes from editors using temp score from other films that everyone gets used to, and then the composers are boxed in by as how that scene “should” feel.

One of my pet peeves as a moviegoer is a creative, technically excellent score that is wrong for the movie, and seems to be trying to generate feelings that don’t come organically from the story and characters. It’s usually not the composer’s fault. Somebody approved it.

What is wrong with the color grading / luma values in Ted Lasso season 3? It jumps from HDR bright to really dark and back mid scene. This whole season. It’s crazy.

@evilpiss You can get around this with ProRaw on the 14 Pro but it’s slow and the file sizes are huge 👎

I saw an ad for a clip service that allows access - for pitch decks and mood reels and sizzle reels - to 4K clips from popular movies... I saw stuff from Joker... ClipDeck? Something like that? High quality cinematography from real movies... TIA for any help.

@joeydanna How is the HFR? I saw someone claim on the background elements of each shot are running at 48fps which seems … unlikely?

I admit I’ll pay to see anything James Cameron does. I’m a die hard fan - but I gotta say, the Titanic remaster exceeded my expectations. It looks absolutely stunning. Terrific color and stereo work. It holds up completely and has never looked better. Every detail is pristine.

@comebackshane I’m at the point now when searching for production music where the track has to be really good to make me okay with not having stems. (Also Avid let us group stereo clips please!)

Currently using six of the 12 vers of a music cue to score a scene on Curse of Oak Island. It is amazingly helpful to have the full cue and indiv stems (melody, percussion, underscore, etc)...or diff versions (full, gritty, lite, mystery, groove) to help with needed tempo changes

@editblog @PeterNelsonFilm It’s worth pointing out that an external monitor tends to solve a lot of your extra port needs. I can frequently get by with plugging peripherals into the monitor so when alternating between laptop and docked I only have to unplug one cable.

With the new M2 MacBook Pros today I'm rethinking my imminent Mac Studio purchase for an M2 MacBook Pro since my laptop is a very slow older i9 MacBook Pro. 🤔 Hmm.... help me. 🥹

@somebadideas I know their tech specs are stupidly restrictive but does this filter down to lighting choices too?

@restlesspix Kills me that even with Filmic Pro the iPhone always shoots VFR, seems like a lot of these limitations are baked in with their processing pipeline.

@restlesspix It’s a shame because a 13 Pro with ProRes is pretty close to acceptable for “our doc ran out of money but we need to get more b-roll / exteriors”.

@comebackshane Broadcast TV is like that in Australia, we’ve been spoiled.

They have just the right amount of time needed to tell the story properly. They don't cut things for time...they don't stretch scenes out to add time. They tell the story they need to tell in the approximate time they are slotted to tell it.

One thing I really like about streaming shows is that they don't need to hit a specific time. Because even though they may have commercials (such as the base HULU plan), there's no strict schedule to follow. So a "30 min" show can be 24 min, then 27, then 31...

@decryption I’ve just realized the commuters aren’t on the tracks. So I guess it’s just a “selfish union” message rather than a nonsensical one.

Is it just me or does this make absolutely no sense.
