I personally think Nashville, SLC, Portland and Montreal are logistically and fan support better for baseball. Charlotte can probably do it but it's a bit close to ATL, but then again nash is also pretty close...one could make the argument for either of them, I would not have Orlando or JAX in there but there's also other options in NC that may support a team.

@bobbyfairview Sorry I just don’t think BlueCo is going anywhere anytime soon. They are not selling club for a £1B+ loss. So all this “hope” in forcing them out now is misplaced. IMHO the protests would be better directed at pushing for a new sporting director who gives manager real input.

This is a very good question. My view is that a sell-to-buy model is inevitably a death spiral because it is not accretive to sporting outcomes nor enterprise value for a 2033 sale. If you’re buying young players at high cost, amortizing those costs through the P&L, and then selling them to generate disposal gains to offset operating losses, you are not creating net value. Each buying cycle requires you to spend more to replace what you sold, and the disposal gains are one-off rather than recurring. The compounding problem is that you are destroying the asset base that generates future revenue (squad quality, commercial value, prize money from performance) in order to fund the current season. Replacement costs inflate and the squad ceiling lowers each time. This means the death spiral accelerates with each cycle increasing the cash burn that the next round of sales must cover. How did Blueco not learn that from their ChatGPT? Because we know that is how they are managing this club. #BluecoOUT

@bobbyfairview Following up. Yes Chelsea leadership has made several wrong assumptions that turned into mistakes, but this buying strategy could still turn around. There is a ton of top talent here and coming. If a just a few become world class and others “class” + be mature. We’ll be cooking.

@JoshGrahamShow I was writing same response out yesterday but never posted. I grew up in Charlotte area as a Redskins fan but switched allegiance and became a Panthers fan with the expansion.

This is the same argument that was made against adding the Carolina Panthers in the 90s, citing the popularity of Washington. Obviously, that was a good move by the NFL and they were well supported quickly.

@GoldbergCFC Yes but our “older” players were not considered old when they joined Chelsea. We need some older players that also have strong leadership qualities…who did not grow up at Chelsea and assimilate under the past 3-4 years of deteriorating culture.

We say as a fanbase we want older players but the older players that our SD’s acquire become our most likely players to make horrible mistakes.
