ಕಳೆದ ಹಲವು ದಶಕಗಳಿಂದ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲೇ ಮಾದರಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ ತ್ರಿಭಾಷಾ ನೀತಿ ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದೇ ಪೂರ್ವಾಪರ ಚರ್ಚೆ, ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ತಜ್ಞರ ಸಲಹೆ, ಪ್ರತಿಪಕ್ಷಗಳ ನಿಲುವು ಯಾವುದನ್ನು ಪರಿಗಣನೆಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ಏಕಾಏಕಿ ಹಿಂದಿ ಭಾಷೆ ಕೈ ಬಿಡುವ ನಿಲುವು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡಿರುವುದು ಆಘಾತಕಾರಿ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆ. ಅದರಲ್ಲೂ SSLC ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಹಠಾತ್ ನಿಲುವು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಗೊಂದಲಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಗಿದೆ. ನಾವು ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಲಿಕೆಗೆ ವಿರೋಧ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ಕನ್ನಡ ನಮ್ಮ ಮಾತೃಭಾಷೆ. ಕನ್ನಡವು ನಮ್ಮ ಬೋಧನಾ ಭಾಷೆಯಾಗಿ ಜಾಗತಿಕ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಕೋನದಿಂದ ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್ ಕಲಿಕೆಗೂ ನಮ್ಮ ಅಭ್ಯಂತರವಿಲ್ಲ. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರು ದೇಶದ ಅನೇಕ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಉದ್ಯೋಗ ಅರಸಿ ಹೋದಾಗ ಕನಿಷ್ಠಮಟ್ಟದ ಹಿಂದಿ ಭಾಷೆಯ ಅರಿವು ಇರಬೇಕಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರಕಾರದ ಉದ್ಯೋಗಗಳಿಗೆ ಸೇರ್ಪಡೆಗೊಳ್ಳುವ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಯುವಸಮೂಹವು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಂದೆ ಬೀಳಬಾರದು ಎಂಬ ಕಾಳಜಿ ನಮ್ಮದು. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಲವು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಅನುಸರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವ ತ್ರಿಭಾಷಾ ಸೂತ್ರವೂ ಕನ್ನಡವನ್ನು ಅಸ್ಮಿತೆಯಾಗಿ, ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್‌ನ್ನು ಸಂವಹನ ಭಾಷೆಯಾಗಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಹಿಂದಿಯನ್ನು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಕೋನದಿಂದ ನೋಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಆದಾಗ್ಯೂ ಹಿಂದಿ ಭಾಷೆಯನ್ನು ಕೈಬಿಡುವುದಾದರೆ ಇದರ ಬಗೆಗೆ ಭಾಷಾ ತಜ್ಞರು, ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ತಜ್ಞರು, ಎಲ್ಲ ಭಾಷೆಯ ಸಾಹಿತಿಗಳು ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕವಾಗಿ ವ್ಯಾಪಕ ಚರ್ಚೆ ನಡೆಸುವ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿದೆ. ಕೇವಲ ರಾಜಕೀಯ ವಿರೋಧಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರಕಾರದ ಮೇಲಿನ ದ್ವೇಷಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಭವಿಷ್ಯದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಚೆಲ್ಲಾಟ ಆಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಸರಕಾರದ ತೀರ್ಮಾನ ವಿವೇಕ ರಹಿತ ಹಾಗೂ ಆಘಾತಕಾರಿ ಆದುದು.
