@RichardBurgon I’m afraid you are rather out of touch with public opinion on this. In a time of budgetary constraint, this would be an unwelcome cost to the taxpayer and one that working people do not support. Where would the money come from?

The calls on the government to lift the two child benefit cap are growing. It would immediately reduce child poverty here in East Leeds and across the country. That’s why in Parliament I voted to scrap it and that’s why I’ll continue to campaign and push until it has been.

As a reminder, the Royal Navy is now 100% reliant on foreign support to do stores replenishment, due to the collapse of the RFA fleet, and selling/scrapping 3 of the 4 stores ships since 2010, and now putting RFA FORT VICTORIA into reserve due to insufficient crew in rhe RFA...

The @RoyalAirForce has greater lift capacity today than at any point since WW2. In fact our C17s can today take the payload of around 28 of the famed C47 Dakota’s that made such an impact on D-Day.

Inflation is persistently high at 7.9%. We haven’t made the inroads other G7 countries have. In the US, inflation is down to 3%, in the Eurozone 5.5%. Children are going hungry & parents are working multiple jobs, just to get by. The Govt is failing our economy & our families.

To the immediate right of this location lies a nursery & a primary school. Children aged 3 - 11 play beside 13 lanes of traffic & all the air pollutants these generate. Bring on Glasgow’s LEZ & the start of efforts to protect those tiny lungs. Glasgow’s poorest don’t drive.
