@matthieunapoli The real problem is: Turns out my use-case isn't Lambda but ECS behind Cloud Map 🤦‍♂️ And the integration to Cloud Map must be blocking specific request headers, including X-Forwarded-Host. My next step will be to verify this by running httpbin.org as the container 🤞

@matthieunapoli After digging into this further (perhaps too much) (including creating a standalone example with CDK), the scenario above works perfectly, even behind API Gateway Custom Domains 🎉

Why is CloudFront not adding the X-Forwarded-Host header? It adds all the other X-Forwarded headers already, I don't understand. #awswishlist

@matthieunapoli Okay, this has been bugging me all weekend. Just to confirm I'm not going crazy, are you saying that you have this (kind of) setup & it works as expected:

@jdrydn We're using that pattern (with HTTP API) extensively in Lift (github.com/getlift/lift), I'm not sure what's not working for you but it can definitely work.

@matthieunapoli Nah, if I point Cloudfront to httpbin I can see the header passed through 😅 I believe it’s a restriction in API Gateway (V2) - HTTP-API to Lambda - if I make requests directly to the default endpoint the X-Forwarded-Host header doesn’t make it through.

@jdrydn Are you sure it's blocking it? I am using that technique and it works fine. Maybe your CF distribution config is not forwarding that header to API Gateway?

@kyleshevlin What about @Hygraphcom? Seems like a decent/flexible writing experience - plus webhooks support to handle "publishing"/triggering rebuilds?

@PatrickSocha Core Jekyll is pretty straightforward - especially on @github Pages - but some of the templates I’ve worked with are crazy unnecessarily complicated! 😬
