Hon. Justice Engonda Ntende Martin Frederick S. signed out of service as member of team @JudiciaryUG today with a heartfelt goodbye after glowing tributes to his glistening career.
This caps a long and honourable tenure as a judicial emblem of integrity, humility, innovation, excellence, fear of God, liberty, justice, honour, wisdom, truth and judicial independence as articulated by such eminent speakers as Justice Madrama (JSC); @RKirunda, James Ssebugyenyi (Senior Counsel) and others.
The bar, the bench, the public and others will miss this throbbing wellspring of judicial excellence. We salute his towering legacy.

A government which is very committed on aggressively collecting taxes from citizens but that shows no concern about the theft of that money by known individuals is a government that supports and encourages such theft and all its costs to taxpayers.

Lord Justice Egonda Ntende’s powerful parting shot hit hard: Alex Waiswa Mufumbiro locked up on a minor, obscure and unproven charge while his wife Edith Katende Mufumbiro lost her battle with cancer. Their young children had to mourn and bury their mother alone. No child should endure this pain. Justice without compassion is empty; it must have a soul.
Thank you, Lord Justice, for speaking truth.
Rest in peace Edith. 🙏🏽 #JusticeForMufumbiro

After her Oscar win for 12 Years a Slave in 2014, Lupita Nyong'o revealed that she was mostly offered roles depicting enslaved or suffering Black women, often being sent scripts to play slave characters repeatedly.
Despite expectations that her opportunities would expand, the roles she was offered continued to box her into stereotypical portrayals tied to slavery and pain.
She believes this pattern was influenced by racism and colorism within the industry. Nyong'o refused to accept such reductive roles, even if it meant fewer jobs, as she did not want to perpetuate damaging stereotypes about African women.

Peace begins in the human heart, passes through relationships, takes root in neighborhoods and peripheries, and expands until it embraces the entire city and the world. Peace is built by promoting a culture that rejects violence, through daily gestures, education, and practical acts of justice. #PastoralVisit #Naples

Bududa Medics Flee as Mother who Failed to Pay Bribe Dies in Labour.
Bududa hospital is on the spot over the death of an expectant mother who died early this morning after health workers allegedly refused to attend to her for failing to pay money at the public maternal facility.
The deceased, Jenifer Nasaka aged 31, was a resident of Bunasaba central village, Bumakita parish in Nalwanza Sub county Bududa district. According to Lornah Matuka, the immediate attendant and mother to the deceased, she was tossed from one health worker to the other and later asked by one of the health workers to pay two hundred thousand shillings (200,000) to facilitate the treatment of her patient, which she never had.#TruthOnTime |#RIP

A 16-year-old student (now 22) from Limpopo, South Africa, has received attention for a safety device she designed. Her name is Bohlale Mphahlele. She created the idea for a device called the "Alerting Earpiece." It is a small device shaped like an earring. The goal is to help people in dangerous situations.
She got the idea because of high crime rates and gender-based violence in South Africa. She wanted to design something small, simple, and easy to use.
The design includes a small camera, a GPS tracker, and an alert button. The idea is that the user can press a hidden button. The device would then take a photo of the attacker. It would also send the user's location to trusted contacts and emergency services.
The device is still in development: The prototype has won awards (including bronze at the Eskom Expo) and international attention, but it’s not yet commercially available.
It will hit the market sooner than later show how one idea from one person will eventually effect the lives of many
Stay tuned to stay safe on this
