People keep replying to my rants about taxes with "Govt is doing so much already" or "What do you need? Taxes are to help others". I am not asking for big dole outs. I'm asking for basic needs that a country should provide to its citizens, especially if we are paying 40% of our money in direct taxes and another 20-30% in indirect taxes. - If there's a fire in my locality, can the fire truck reach in 5 minutes? - If I've to go to work, can it please not be disrupted by "VIPs" roaming around? - Can we go to police to help us out when needed instead of getting harassed further? - Can we get a license made or any other govt work done without paying bribes and still spending days running around? Don't give me freebies, but please fix basic things. That's all we ask. Don't even give me a priority, fix this for everyone.

Thoughts on working at a cost center or at a profit center in a (tech) company. Still remember when I joined JP Morgan in 2011 and the company boasted how they are now a tech company. I did not realize, but that was marketing and did not change that tech stayed a cost center.

Education without freedom of thought is not really education. But will education really create good people? Or will freedom of thought do it? I don't know. Good is a subjective term. If someone thinks that doing harm to others is bad, then she is good. How to create good people?
