4️⃣ Patreon Falling Behind If you’ve read this far, you must like my rant—so I might as well throw one more thing in. In June 2022, Patreon’s competitors (SupportingCast, Supercast, and Memberful) already had Spotify integration, allowing premium podcast subscribers to listen to content inside the biggest podcast app in the world, Spotify. At the time, my premium members couldn’t listen to my premium feed on Spotify, so I reached out to Patreon and asked: “Hey, when are you going to catch up to your competitors?” Their response? “What a great idea! But we talked about it, but decided not to put it on the road map.” 🚨 They weren’t even planning to do it! Ever! 🚨 They finally implemented Spotify integration over a year later, but this was a clear sign to me: They’re no longer leading. They’re playing catch-up. They’re not anticipating podcasters’ needs, they’re reacting after the fact. I'm trying to blast off into the future, and it's clear Patreon is holding me back.

14 years ago tonight, we witnessed the finale of arguably the greatest season of Survivor. We saw Colby's last emotional self-reflection, one of the closest final immunity challenges, which eliminated Jerri's chance at winning. We ultimately watched as Sandra burned Russell's hat and ego as she went on to make Survivor history; becoming the first person to win the game twice. Survivor Heroes vs Villains blessed us in so many ways, and for that I am truly grateful. #Survivor #SurvivorHeroesvsVillains
