And splashdown!
America is back in the business of sending astronauts to the Moon and bringing them home safely.
Reid, Victor, Christina, and Jeremy did an outstanding job. These talented astronauts inspired the world and represented their space agencies and nations as humanity’s ambassadors to the stars.
This was a test mission, the first crewed flight of SLS and Orion, pushing farther into the unforgiving environment of space than ever before, and it carried real risk. They accepted that risk for all we stood to learn and for the exciting missions that follow, as we return to the lunar surface, build a Moon base, and prepare for what comes next.
And they were not alone. The entire NASA workforce, our commercial and international partners, and the hopes and dreams of people all over the world were with them. The astronauts know it, and you should too. This mission would not have been possible without you.
Congratulations. Artemis II, mission accomplished.

Professional Development: As part of its strategic focus to register 10,000 Engineers by 2028, the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) is conducting the 6th cohort training on registration of Professional Engineers for Graduate Engineers from the Kenya Power and Lighting Company, marking a key milestone in the ongoing collaboration.
Through this partnership, EBK and KPLC have now trained about 450 Graduate Engineers, equipping them for professional registration.
In her remarks, the Registrar/CEO emphasized that professional registration is a mark of competence, accountability and commitment to high standards. She underscored the critical role KPLC engineers play in national development through the delivery of power infrastructure. She noted that EBK currently has over 28,000 registered engineers with about 4,400 being Professional Engineers, highlighting the need to bridge this gap through structured training, mentorship and PER workshops. She also highlighted progress in accreditation of engineering programmes, implementation of career progression guidelines, Kenya’s provisional accession to the Washington Accord and ongoing digital transformation.
Director Eng. Albert Mugo, who officially opened the training, encouraged engineers to acquire multidisciplinary skills to better position themselves for senior management roles.
Speaking on behalf of the Managing Director, Dr. Jeremiah Kiplagat, Director Institute of Energy Studies & Research expressed optimism that over 90% of the trained Graduate Engineers will transition to Professional Engineers by year-end and welcomed further collaboration between the Board and IESR.

#WhyILoveKenya 🇰🇪
We recently launched a new video promoting @magicalkenya , and I have seen comments questioning why the campaign appears to target European audiences, with claims that Africans are only portrayed as dancing and serving visitors.
Let’s address this with facts.
In tourism marketing, every campaign has a specific target market. International tourism is inbound tourism, and it brings much-needed foreign exchange, jobs, and investment into the country. Like any global destination, Kenya must market itself strategically to the markets that travel long-haul.
At the same time, Kenya continues to promote tourism to its own people. Our recent domestic campaign, “Hapa Ni Wapi,” was designed specifically to encourage Kenyans to explore and appreciate their own country.
Tourism marketing is not a one-size-fits-all strategy. Different markets require different messaging, visuals, and storytelling.
So before rushing to conclusions, it helps to understand how global tourism marketing actually works.
Kenya’s story is bigger than a single clip. It is about our wildlife, culture, landscapes, hospitality, and people — and sharing that story with the world benefits the entire country.
As always, I remain an optimist about Kenya’s future. 🌍✨
@JuneChepkemei good stuff well done

You’re not alone, you know! God has appointed an angel to protect each one of us. Beautiful prayer we learned as kids: Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God’s love commits me here, ever this day be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. @thegnewsroom

No, Catholicism isn't a "white man's religion." It originated in the Middle East with Jesus (Jewish) and the apostles. North Africa was a powerhouse in shaping early doctrine.
Key African Church Fathers:
- Tertullian (Carthage, Tunisia): Coined "Trinity," defended orthodoxy.
- St. Augustine of Hippo (Algeria, Berber/Roman African): Defined original sin, grace, just war—core to Catholic theology.
- Origen, Athanasius, Cyprian, Clement (Egypt/North Africa): Advanced Trinity, Christology, monasticism, Latin liturgy (before Rome).
Three African popes: Victor I (made Latin official, ~190 AD), Miltiades, Gelasius I.
Africa helped build the universal Church long before European dominance.

This is strange – when I was a kid, I used to love helping my mom hang the laundry on the clothesline to dry. But we never did it on Sunday! No unnecessary work on Sunday. It’s time for prayer, worship, Mass, family, friends, relaxation. @thegnewsroom
