@melodymercadotv Thanks for this! It's baffles my mind that @AldReilly would prioritize car traffic (yuck) over a beautiful, vibrant human oriented street. It's like he wants to make River North as boring and as car-oriented as possible. Why!? Clark St has never been so popular!

@hypotheticMatty @YIMBYLAND I'll second that, the amount of skyscraper building is insane in Chicago, and not just in West Loop - follow the Halsted St corridor north over the next 3-5 years.

@YIMBYLAND I think Chicago might be interesting - particularly in the West Loop.

@BrandTran @the_transit_guy Same here in Chicago. Regional public transit, outside of planes and run down buses, is really pretty terrible in the US.

@DaRagingLunatic Oh wow yeah, Python and Rust couldn't be more different from each other. Rust will pay off big indeed and its adoption curve is really starting to grow exponentially. Good luck in your journey with it!

@jhodapp Yeah its just Rust. I did about a week with python and then went straight to Rust. I’m sure it will pay off big. I do enjoy it.

I couldn't be more proud of the professional growth @AlgoMike2030 has consistently shown throughout our software engineer coaching together. Check out Michael's application HODLstats and show his project some love.

@DaRagingLunatic What other languages have you worked with? If Rust is your first systems-like language, I can understand why this feels a bit hard. My suggestion is to find a way that works for you, go with it to solve a problem, and over time you'll keep learning better patterns to solve them.

@jhodapp Some exercises im doing in learning rust is like: “three materials, wood, tile, carpet, at different costs, $10, $15, $20 per square meter. Work out the total for a job”. Basic maths. Easy to do and fast. But nooo you have to implement traits and function calls on the values held

@DaRagingLunatic If you're looking for some help in Rust, consider joining the Rust Never Sleeps community which includes a Slack server where you can ask questions and get to know real people learning Rust. #getting-involved" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">github.com/Jim-Hodapp-Coa…

@DaRagingLunatic Thank you very much, I'm really glad you enjoyed my article. Rust *is* a hard language, but keep at it. You'll find yourself becoming exponentially more productive in it over time and the concepts won't seem as hard. But you have to keep going and practice frequently.

@AmienEssif @NickRiccardi Far fewer European households own a working dishwasher or dryer. They still hang their clothes out on lines like it’s 1950. You can either classify that as willfully making your life harder, or being poorer.
