In October 2022, a deadly cholera outbreak was identified in Haiti due to severe fuel shortages that hindered the transport of clean water to the mainland. Fortunately, our existing Max on the island of La Gonâve was positioned to help provide clean water to contain the disease.

Last week, U.S. & Dominican military personnel took part in a humanitarian assistance & disaster relief seminar at @COE_RD in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The seminar was part of #USNSComfort's humanitarian mission to the nation. #CP22 @NAVSOUS4THFLT @EmbajadaUSAenRD

La asesora está en el país junto a otros expertos internacionales a propósito de la estadía del buque Hospital Comfort que está en aguas de República Dominicana ofreciendo asistencia médica gratuita a los dominicanos.

Además, coordinaron la realización de ejercicios y planes de desarrollo futuro que permitirán fortalecer el sistema de respuesta ante emergencias nacional. En el marco de la visita, fueron donados al organismo kits médicos en tamaños variados para atender traumas.
