@TDeneroy @Cartidise They didn't, that's the point. They still used the very expensive huge lens and tripod which is most of the cost. It means the iPhone sensor is good, but if comparing price you have to add that lens to the iPhone cost.

Yes it is called accounting for the total price into the menu price that you charge for food/drinks. In most of the world if a meal is $30 on the menu then that is it. No tip, no extra taxes. Every competing restaurant is operating under the same system of full price being accounted for on the menu.

@bigdogofla @joelmuzz @501_CT7567 @kirawontmiss Economy. Every owner and business knows this. You either pay 48 dollars for your 40 dollar steak Pay 40 dollars for the steak and pay 20% tip Nobody owns restaurants anymore and you cook your own food These are your options

@RichardRos74352 @501_CT7567 @kirawontmiss Encouraging the tipping culture is only encouraging employers exploiting workers with underpayment. Employers should be forced to pay proper minimum wages. Yes this increases menu prices, but it ends up much the same, with the guarantee that staff are always being paid fairly.

@joelmuzz @501_CT7567 @kirawontmiss if you dont agree with the culture, dont partake in it. not tipping just fucks over the little guy trying to survive. Something tells me you know that though and just want to fish for an excuse to be a niggard

The close door button on elevators is placebo. It hasn't worked since 1990 since the ADA requires all elevators to remain open for at least 3 seconds. Did you know that?

@kirawontmiss You're paying for good service. 20% is a normal tip for good service. If you can't afford to tip, you can't afford to eat out.

@MockShepid @kirawontmiss Should simply be part of the menu pricing and they pay their staff a real hourly rate

@kirawontmiss I get the tipping, it’s how the restaurant business model works in the US (the margin is incredibly low due to many factors). What doesn’t make sense is the % of the bill system. Having to tip more because you ordered a more expensive entree is nonsense. Should be set amounts.

@AndriaDont99498 It is called a loan. You go to the bank with a business plan which you got from your friend running a gas station, they agree it is viable, they give you money.

Where do Indians get the money for gas stations, and if they have that kind of wealth why don't they stay in India where the dollar goes much further?

One thing many foreigners find unbelievable about Japan 🇯🇵 In some rural areas, people sell vegetables through unmanned stands. No staff. No security guard. You simply take what you want and leave the money behind. And somehow… it often works. Could this exist in your country?

I don’t understand why every vehicle isn’t a hybrid. Why not use regenerative braking to charge a battery in every car? Huge increase in gas mileage. Why do they still make non-hybrids?

@FloridaFloGrown 3000 calories is $3.50 of pasta so hardly a need to povertymax. Oils, sugar, dairy dirt cheap in USA and zero problem getting high calories for little money. Nutrition is the challenge.

The people telling you to povertymaxx and eat bread sandwiches so you can afford a used car are just plain wrong. Even as far back as the 1800's people were averaging 3,000 to 5,000 calories a day.

Maintaining half a window width from a wall for the sake of shutters would be silly design choice when this style of single sided shutter exists. Plus most kit home plans never even considered having shutters. So unless designing from scratch factoring in shutters was never even an option.

@joelmuzz @TheManlet_King Nobody said anything about designing the structure around window shutters, you gotta use a holistic approach to building where everything works together in the end. The exterior treatment of a house is generally decided before the foundation is poured.

@BichaelRender @TheManlet_King It is for when the other side is obstructed. It may just be a bad choice in this case or maybe there is an obstruction not obvious in the image.

This is how the government disincentives jobseekers from taking gig work. Jobseeker is well below what it needs to be in order to keep a roof over your head and food on the table. Instead of encouraging jobseekers to earn the difference, the government taps out at $150 f/n wtf

Most houses aren't a simple square/rectangle box, so they have walls stepping out. Also near another window or door. Downpipes need to be somewhere. It would be silly to design the whole structural plan of the house around window shutters when single sided, roller or most commonly no shutters are options.

Rent is set by what the renter market will pay, not by what the landlord market wants (which is always as much as possible). Falling prices mean more people existing the rental market to become mortgaged owners. The major factor is immigration. If govt keeps allowing people to enter at a faster rate than new homes then supply will remain low so people have to outbid each other for rentals.

@SardineTruther And next people will stop selling and rather put their places for rent for higher. You’ll see people start to split their homes into 2 maybe 3 separate “units” to maximise rental yield. Supply shock and prices won’t go down 40-50% like everyone hopes.

What people don't seem to realise is that we're in the 'in between' phase. Everyone selling doesn't quite realise that demand for their three bedroom gyprock shacks has suddenly dropped due to it being a poor investment for over 60% of their formerly interested buyers. A first homebuyer doesn't want a $1.8m former rental in Campbelltown.
Timmehhh 🍞@Timmehhhh7

How many young Australians bought a home this weekend after they weren’t outbid by “Investors”. Not many I reckon. Going well so far then. How long until Labor abandon “The modelling”.
