And this will be soo incredibly self serving but it’s hard to not mention the government policies from a local and state level in place helping facilitate this movement. There is a bifurcation of visions in this country - some jurisdictions looking to tax unrealized gains, and places like Miami and Florida looking to help founders and our ecosystem grow and thrive.

It was a blast hosting @FutureProof_HQ in Miami Beach with 1,700 of the world’s leading financial firms and 4k finance professionals. Catching up with Wall Street legend @fundstrat Tom Lee on his thoughts on the Conference and Miami Beach

I was once such a proud NY’er but these people are absolutely insane. Chasing investment, jobs and capital from their city because they are anti-Semitic. I am happy to champion either of these companies that want to bring their jobs and investment to Miami.

As a lifelong Floridian, it’s amusing to see a place go from being universally mocked by the business and cultural elite for hanging chads and Florida Man to becoming the shining example of good governance. That said, it’s sad (and a bit cowardly) to see so few of our famous newcomers acknowledge the real reasons why they’re uprooting their family offices and businesses and social lives after years of exporting West Coast morality to everywhere but here. Just admit why you’re coming. No one is moving here for the weather.

As someone who sits at the intersection of public policy and the private sector - wearing hats as both an elected official in Miami Beach and a Partner in an America First venture capital firm, I am always happy to help collaborate / facilitate these incredible economic development efforts

So in the last few weeks… Howard Schultz, Mark Zuckerberg, Sergey Brinn, Larry Page have all moved to Miami

I have a work trip at the Miami Beach convention center in October that I was going to extend and bring my family to. Is that a crazy idea? Are any of the hotels within walking distance, family friendly? Or would I need to get a Airbnb?
