Not surprised he couldn’t get into his Dad’s college (for free tuition) and has never had a job in the real world. People I would never have imagined are preparing their escape plans.

🚨WTF?? NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani announces he's hitting the wealthy with MAXIMUM taxes to convince others to stop leaving the city: "I'll ask those who make the most amount of money [to] pay more so everyone can STAY IN THIS CITY!" We warned you.

And this will be soo incredibly self serving but it’s hard to not mention the government policies from a local and state level in place helping facilitate this movement. There is a bifurcation of visions in this country - some jurisdictions looking to tax unrealized gains, and places like Miami and Florida looking to help founders and our ecosystem grow and thrive.

This post blew up so let me tell you what’s actually happening in Miami that most people still aren’t tracking. A thread. 🧵

People still acting like Miami is hype. Meanwhile, Sergei Brin of @Google just casually showed up at a hackathon with @thelabmiami x @MDCollege x @DeepStationAI. Standing room only. Thx @GianniDalerta for sharing. The future is not being discussed in Miami. It’s being built here.

Thinking about putting together a small monthly tech dinner in Miami. Nothing formal, just a table somewhere new each month. Anyone into that?

Miami is lucky to have founders like @ClementDelangue make it their home base. Future is bright!
clem 🤗@ClementDelangue

Great to catch up with @akothari yesterday in Miami (Is Miami back btw?). @NotionHQ is killing it with agents and just rolled out their first open weight models with Minimax. In my (biased) opinion, applied AI startups can’t solely rely on proprietary APIs who end up being super costly and compete with them in many cases so cool to see open-source AI getting some usage there!

I was once such a proud NY’er but these people are absolutely insane. Chasing investment, jobs and capital from their city because they are anti-Semitic. I am happy to champion either of these companies that want to bring their jobs and investment to Miami.

The Brooklyn Navy Yard was home to a drone manufacturer that contracted with the Israeli military and Trump's Customs and Border Protection — until New Yorkers organized, fought and won. @JabariBrisport was on the frontlines. I'm so honored to have his support.

As a lifelong Floridian, it’s amusing to see a place go from being universally mocked by the business and cultural elite for hanging chads and Florida Man to becoming the shining example of good governance. That said, it’s sad (and a bit cowardly) to see so few of our famous newcomers acknowledge the real reasons why they’re uprooting their family offices and businesses and social lives after years of exporting West Coast morality to everywhere but here. Just admit why you’re coming. No one is moving here for the weather.

When the @NotionHQ team meets up in Miami, you drop what you're doing to join in. Thankfully, I have custom agents working after hours. 🦾

Hi Miami. I want new friends. I’m coming down to interview some of the most interesting founders in the world. Earlier this year, I left my stable job to build Look Who I Found - a media company showing the human side of founders. My mission is simple: make entrepreneurship fun again. I walk with them. We talk like friends. No script. No performance. Just real conversations that inspire people to actually build. While I’m in Miami, I’ll be meeting founders, investors, and operators shaping what’s next. I’d love to connect with: • Founders building something bold • VCs who want their portfolio companies seen differently • PR teams who want their founders to go viral If that’s you - what are we waiting for? Let’s go for a walk.

I have a work trip at the Miami Beach convention center in October that I was going to extend and bring my family to. Is that a crazy idea? Are any of the hotels within walking distance, family friendly? Or would I need to get a Airbnb?
