@ganyicz Key is at most the same level of difficulty, for equal resulting output, but greater productivity. Has to be some benefit.

I think the art of working with AI is learning when to go slow I’m coding a design from Figma, had most of it done within the first day, everything looked fine, 95% there, the code “wasn’t too bad” Now I’m on day three double checking everything, fixing up annoying details which I surely would have caught earlier if I just went slow, section-by-section instead of letting it spit out the entire webpage I already had this realization multiple times but with every new workflow I get bamboozled into thinking I can “just fix up those details later” until it’s too late

@BoswellDoug It’s a great point to explore. But are the headlines you cite from the *same* news agency? They are all so different, the consistency must be demonstrated within an agency for the point to stand.

It is amazing, but not surprising how the media have a bias against Pierre P. Lewis "easily" wins NDP leadership with 56% Poilievre "survived" his leadership review with over 87% support.

@CBPost_Ian Confirmed. The page still has the old title in the <title> tag on the page. This may be a setting on your CMS, but without changing it, that original title will be shown in browser, and in search results.

@CBPost_Ian I’m not home to verify, but it looked like the on-page title changed, but the browser title and meta data hadn’t.

@CBPost_Ian Hi Ian, your original title on the budget report was: "Expect rise in taxes, tipping fees as CBRM passes $285M fiscal budget for 2026-27 | PNI Atlantic News"?

@burkov Folks will get away with not understanding what’s happening, but we should know. But we also have to acknowledge that the world has always run lots of half-arsed, poorly tested, spaghetti code, all by human keystrokes.

With all due respect to Andrew, in his motivational post, he didn't explain why anyone would write code by hand. I can code, but I consider coding by hand a waste of time. So, if I, the one who already knows how to code, consider this a waste of time, why would anyone learn something which is very hard to learn only to then consider it a waste of time, like I do?

@burkov Principles of software development are still important. I don’t know for how long. I would rather make progress than write code like a poet—but I want robust code. I think software engineering and requirements specification are vital now.

As a Canadian kid growing up with basic cable, Wok With Yan was my first real introduction to a cooking show. I was immediately hooked on the concept, bewildering ingredients I’d never heard of and of course Stephen’s pun riddled apron game.🇨🇦

@tomayers2262 I loved your article today, and the radio segment. That's strong journalism. You're on the right team. It could have just been "They're building something. Here's who to congratulate," but you asked questions that may be important for the future and accountability.

MacIntrye's adamance about disconnecting CBU is strange, as well as the contradictions coming from the CBRM and province. Use CBU to trigger all the funding and then walk away?

@tomayers2262 Interesting report. Would be interesting to know who is on payroll, or will be. Is current work tendered? Or require permits? They've been out there for many weeks now with site preparation. cbc.ca/news/canada/no…

Most of the people who think that AI will replace developers are: - Managers who don’t code - Investors and startup founders selling it - People outside tech Developers: "It's helpful."

An interesting test is porting over my own software. My feeling is that all the mistakes still allow for a significant net gain in efficiency, but I may feel differently at the end of this experiment.

It's difficult to project how good AI like Codex will become at coding full applications. It's already remarkable, yet still highly error prone. The tech amplifies software developer efficiency, but does not yet replace them for significant work.
