Bad answer. The reason people are talking about "space computing" is because @ElonMusk (pbuh) is talking about it -- and he's talking about them in order to pump the SpaceX IPO. Cooling is not the deal break. Yes, cooling is indeed a big problem -- but not the worst as portrayed here. People are stuck on the misconception that space is cold and that cooling might therefore be easy. When they learn the vacuum of space is also an insulator, they swing too far in the other misconception direction, thinking cooling is impossible. It's merely hard. You need huge cooling panels. The ones on the ISS international space station are about 10% the size of the solar voltaic panels. You'd need roughly the same ratio for computing -- photovoltaics pull light in to provide electrical power, and cooling panels pump (infrared) light out to radiatively cool things back down. Every space craft from the dawn the space age has dealt with this problem, radiating away heat in the cold insulation of space. There are 20 different difficult problems that need to be solved and we are only guessing at how difficult and what they will cost until we get stuff up there. The biggest is space launch -- if Musk can get "Starship" to work, it may make data centers in space viable, assuming clever engineering lowers the price of the other 19 problems.

@loveterrorjade @CryptoCyberia Don’t hold your breath. The training is an astronomically expensive part. To be equivalent and run locally, they would have to let you have access to that training output, which is the core of their business.

The real cost of LLMs, despite being the most OBVIOUS issue with all of this tech, will still somehow surprise those with grifter-flavored LLM Psychosis. And I will be laughing at you all so much.

@TybuddLewis818 Yes? That is because the over processed options taste better. Also, In & Out does not blanch their potatoes properly before frying. So they are also also worse than home made fries.

@okadaxrain @SUndertale28269 The problem is, most photographers are not good retouchers, they are different skill sets, and photographers have tendency to be heavy handed with retouching. I may be biased though, been a retoucher for 25 years

ya ppl work for money, but there are jobs out there that you didn’t apply for so why did you apply for *this* one? if you can’t answer then 1) you may not know enough to excel & 2) you’re saying you can’t do a little bit of thinking to answer THE most common interview question

If you grew up in San Fran, then or now, you should know most of America is nothing like northern Cali and you grew up in what is pretty much peak culture. Same for any big city, esp big cities in blue states. Really distorts what the other half of Americas population live like
