@TheStalwart Try a miniamericano. Espresso cup. Double shot. Rest is hot water. Apparently it’s called a Cafe Zorro.
I like my espresso diluted a touch, but not as much as a classic americano. Its too much water.
Is “caffè americano” (replicating drip coffee by diluting espresso with water) meant to be something of a subtle dig? It is in fact how I prefer to drink coffee, but am I supposed to be feel a tad embarrassed when I order it? (It’s fine, I can handle it, but I’m just curious)
& when you're backed by Chicago, you feel it. ✨
Last month, we opened our new River North HQ and welcomed the people who make this city move — builders, backers, operators, merchants, investors, and community leaders.
No panels. No programming. No nametags.
The kind of room you don't want to leave.
We gave guests disposable cameras and let the night speak for itself.
This is what happens when #Chicago shows up.
See you at the next one. 📸

Proud to be featured alongside leaders like @coinbase, @stripe, @zerohashx, and more in @a16zcrypto Stablecoin Market Map as a licensed on/off-ramp provider.
But here's the thing... On/off-ramps are just the entry point.
Merchants building on Coinflow are connecting the whole stack without complexity: pay-ins, payouts, liquidity, global FX, fraud & chargebacks, risk & compliance, and beyond.
This is what the new stack looks like from the inside 👇
a16zcrypto.com/posts/article/…
A first-time seller. A $1,000 first transaction.
Is that your best new customer? Or a fraudster with a stolen card?
A static rule can't tell the difference. Block it, and you've just turned away a whale. Allow it blindly, and you've eaten the chargeback.
This is why deterministic fraud rules break down at scale. Fraud isn't a fixed pattern you can blocklist your way out of.
It's adaptive. Your defenses need to be, too.
The platforms that are winning on fraud aren't setting stricter limits. They're using models that read context in real time and make smarter calls on the edge cases that matter most.

There's a narrative that crypto success looks like supercars and hype.
The reality? It looks like a RAV4 and steady adoption.
@Novig needed to empower users to pay however they wanted.
Cards + crypto. Not just ACH.
They added stablecoin rails alongside traditional payment methods and, in five months, saw a 90% increase in payment volume, with acceptance rates climbing from 86% to 95%.
No headline. No hype cycle. Just infrastructure that works.
The builders who stayed past 2021 aren't chasing the next token launch.
They're shipping the rails that real products run on—quietly—with a 10-person ops team, moving faster than competitors with five times the headcount.
Infrastructure cycles don't look loud. They look steady.
“We needed a partner that absorbed complexity instead of pushing it back onto us—and that’s what Coinflow did.”
🏅New case study: @Novig
ACH-only → cards + crypto
Results:
~95% acceptance
90%+ volume growth
50% of new users are using new rails
Payments = growth lever.

Was not expecting @CoinflowLabs office to look like this!
Congrats @SirDigitalDan@johnthomaslang on the growth and I'm pumped that Chicago is your home
Great event and thanks for bringing the community together
4 days since announcing and we’ve already hit 170 RSVPs for this week’s Creator Hackathon 🤯
A new era is here. Anyone can build and Chicago is a city for builders
I don’t know who needs to hear it buuuut
good marketing has nothing to do with what YOU like and everything to do with what YOUR BUYER needs
presented without further context 😈
tax day feels like the perfect time for a little career update ↓
after 3 tax seasons, I'm wrapping up my time at @CoinTracker this week.
I built a social presence + strategy from scratch, launched new internal programs, partnered with multiple external agencies, and faced the impossible task of making crypto taxes cool... truly the ride of a lifetime. :)
the amount of growing I did alongside this company cannot be understated, and I have to thank my colleagues @tsweens and @AlexandraReyess for being a huge part of that. I am extremely proud of the quantity and quality of output that the 3 of us accomplished together. request to keep our weekly standup on the cal? 🥺
I loved my time as the cointracker girl, and cant wait to cheer everyone on from the sidelines. 💙
as for where im headed... sharing more on that next week! 🤭
The payments stack most businesses rely on is slow, fragmented, and pushes risk back onto merchants
A Chicago startup is fixing all three and believes the future of payments looks less like crypto and more like plumbing (infra no one sees)
Tomorrow on @chicagofuturist
Sources: North Carolina intends to hire longtime NBA coach Michael Malone as the school’s next basketball coach. He’s an NBA Championship coach with the Denver Nuggets from the 2022-23 season and has won 510 games as an NBA head coach.
The Chicago Bears will decide where to build their new stadium in the next few weeks, per league sources.
If Illinois doesn’t pass legislation for Arlington Heights soon, sources believe the Bears are likely to be Indiana bound.
Two proposed sites in Chicago are not considered feasible, per sources; next to Soldier Field for political reasons, and the land known as Michael Reese was evaluated and rejected by the NFL and the Bears.
@johnthomaslang@CoinflowLabs I'm sure by now, Coinflow has already had a new best revenue day
Congrats and as a fellow BD/growth Chicagoan, I hope I can meet the Coinflow sales team at your event this month
