An outbreak of TB on Diddly Squat farm hitting the “entertainment” headlines this evening in Ireland just about sums up where we are at. Thousands of Irish farmers “devastated” on a weekly basis with horrendous TB outbreaks without an eyelid bated from anybody.

Dear @greenparty_ie, @EamonRyan is not Minister for Transport etc. He is not a TD for Dublin Bay South. Despite prompts from the public he continues to mislead millions nationally & internationally on X by claiming to be a minister. Please reach out & advise him to update.

I sent emails to Government Minister’s two years ago and again last year about lack of planning for extreme weather and no flood warnings. Today I sent the below email, hopefully we will finally see some more planning, resourcing and real adaptation.

I’m launching a business! This time last year, I got blood work done to get a better understanding of where my overall health was at. Listening to @NTBreakfast I hear the argument being made that there is nothing to be achieved by the Dail coming back from their holidays to reconvene. I strongly disagree; if they’re stuck for ideas than can start by repealing the legislation that has meant people have had to build new ‘green’ homes in rural Ireland without any capacity to heat them with timber/turf or diesel. They can immediately repeal all the ‘green’ taxes on the diesel we are having to run our generators on. They can put pressure on insurance companies to expedite payments of legitimate claims for storm damage. They can allocate resources so that the Garda can surge resources into the affected areas to prevent burglaries given that no alarm systems are going to be working properly. Then there’s the matter of the power, water and mobile communications…

@jhealyq Farmers need to be proactive on Ash trees. Because it's a known problem with diseased trees, insurance may not cover damage to cars etc on public roads. Affected timber becomes brittle and may break unexpectedly. Not a job for amateur chainsaw operators.

Removing nine Ash trees along the public road affected by Ash die back. Pity to see such fine trees dieing. Expensive exercise but for public safety must be done!
