NEWS: The NCAA has denied Trinidad Chambliss a sixth-year of eligibility, which would his college career. The decision comes after a verbal denial in December. Ole Miss can still appeal the decision.

People can build good UI and still massively underestimate the mental overhead conceptually of what you need people to understand about what’s happening under the product. Probably the biggest product design mistake I see. App simple, concepts hard. Users confused.

@AdamSchefter, would you go with your long shot pick of the week (KaVontae Turpin) or Jacory Croskey-Merrit in your Flex?

lol @HubSpot - I can only imagine how many teams they've lost through this kludgy AF onboarding. Two options for onboarding: $$ paid or $$$$ PAID. Any other suggestions for a marketing + sales CRM combo? This is ridiculous.

One of the best decisions we made early at @chapterone: we didn’t build around an office, but rather we built around access. Most emerging managers cluster in SF or NY. We went distributed from day one, with investors in California, New York, and London. That choice changed our entire trajectory. Our deal flow doesn’t always look like the popular “hot SF seed rounds.” Many of the companies we’ve led weren’t being shopped around on VC Twitter. And we like it that way. Ironically, our first three core Fund III deals (2025 activated) are SF-based. But that’s the point: access > geography. Distribution creates surface area. We also just activated a new crypto fund (separate fund) & our first two founding teams are based in the Middle East, South Africa, LA, and Texas. We would’ve never seen these deals if we anchored the firm to one zip code. There’s no one way to build a great venture firm. But if you’re copying Sequoia or Benchmark in 2025, you’re already behind. The real opportunity is to build something no one else would think to build. That’s what we’re doing at @chapterone.

@ShaneMac @jack @peterktodd To give you and idea. When you google Sats. It comes back with everything you don’t need to know about taking the SAT 😭

@jack @peterktodd Outside the bubble, not a damn person I talk to knows Sats. And even trying to explain when they already struggle to understand Bitcoin, is way too complex

Tesla FSD feels like you’re on a monorail in between the lines. It’s locked in so well it truly feels like you’re on tracks. To the point that when I drive anymore, it feels so loose and unsafe. Hard to imagine going back tbh. And this is the worst it will ever be.

Something I had zero appreciation of before becoming a parent: parenting is a *wildly* different experience for every kid. Adjusting to that truth has been difficult, but makes everyday parenting much more manageable. Basically, don’t compare yourself to what other people go through bc their kid is prob very different than yours.

It took years, but I managed to track down my ancestor's application to exit Prussia in 1881. The reason for leaving? The emigration officer recorded my ggg grandfather's one sentence explanation: "He thinks he'll do better in America.” No doubt that our immigration laws need to be enforced, that our border should be secure, but we must never forget that people's reasons for coming here have never changed: to be the best version of themselves. Reaching America is an act of curiosity, courage, determination, and hope.

@googlemaps, why did you take away ETA from your navigation overview? Users shouldn’t be expected to do mental math.

@ShaneMac Is there an easier way to parse base.eth? It’s hard at a glance to delineate between base.eth and just .eth without scanning the entire handle.

@Starbucks, you should can your cold brew and sell it in your stores, especially at airports. I’d carry it on to my flight 10/10 times.

Charlie Munger’s clarity on human psychology is insane. “On the personal level, a man should try to face the two simple facts: 1) Fixable but unfixed bad performance is bad character and tends to create more of itself, causing more damage to the excuse-giver with each tolerated instance; and 2) in demanding places, like athletic teams and General Electric, you are almost sure to be discarded in due course if you keep giving excuses instead of behaving as you should.”

If you ever write “spicy take” or “hot take” in Slack, just delete it. It’s typically not helpful nor the right thing for text communication. And if you really want to influence people and bring people to your side of a belief, there’s infinitely better ways to persuade.
