@iPullRank I was playing around with local search intent queries “best vets in x”. When asked a few more question around justifications, it provided review data from Google. However, the numbers were wrong when I spot checked them.

Sadly, I see SEOs often overlooking the power of branded rankings/traffic as part of their SEO strategy. My goal in SEO processes is to achieve a nice balance of branded & non-branded rankings, traffic and conversions because:
* Although when you start with a newer company, it might not have a lof branded searches/rankings/traffic, this is the type of traffic you pretty much "almost" own, it could have been very well direct traffic, but ended up looking for *your brand* in third party search platforms. It already have you in mind, it already know you, it might already likely trust you and is closer in the customer journey to conversion if you're able to fulfill their search needs. In any case, these visits are certainly "warmer" than the non-branded ones. Take a look at their conversions, the will likely be higher.
* It's not only about your potential new "warmer" customers but already existing ones looking for help, a resource, etc. to continue using you or expand your use. It's much cheaper to give a great support and keep a customer vs acquiring new ones. It's fundamental to provide this information to retain them!
* If you do a great job branding wise, your non-branded users will eventually shift to branded. It's then your job to keep ranking/getting visibility/traffic/conversions from new customers through non-branded as well as keep showing up and fulfilling the needs of existing ones to up-sell, cross-sell, help and retain.
* Don't neglect your branded searches opportunities if you already have them, assess them, and integrate within your SEO strategy.
I'll be speaking about this more in my @Ahrefs Evolve session, how the power of a Brand in SEO is usually overlooked but is what ends up being game changing for scalable results, as well as a good product alignment. I'll be sharing my deck over here!
