@chrisreedbates 2 repos - multiple worktrees. I don’t think I can manage more than 3 repos in parallel😂

@joshzjs Hey Josh, when you ask that question, are you talking about working on a single repo or something broader?

How many coding agents can y'all manage in parallel? My limit is around 3 to 5 depending on the task size 😂 I'm becoming the bottleneck, not AI.

Great chatting with you Jane!
Jane Hu@janehu07

I had a coffee chat with @joshzjs , founder of e2a, about his experience of building agents @Google and why AI agents may need their own software tools. If you don’t want to read the full article, here are my main takeaways: 1. AI may become a new kind of operating system, with tools and infra built around it. 2. When building agents inside a large company, interacting with legacy systems is hard because much of the domain knowledge lives in senior engineers’ heads. 3. Infra skills transfer well into agent building because LLMs are still APIs inside larger systems. 5. Generic agent apps may get absorbed by foundation model companies, but agent infra still has room. 6. e2a is betting on software tools for agents, not humans. The goal is to give agents their own identities so they can operate more like human employees, with their own email, phone numbers, and other work tools. If you’re curious about what Josh is building, check out e2a here: e2a.dev He’s also happy to connect with people working on agent infrastructure or developer tools. @joshzjs

I got into @ycombinator S26! The past 6 months have felt like 2 years: - Turned down 7-figure new grad offers at top companies - Bootstrapped until my bank account hit zero - Pivoted 5 times, and did door-to-door sales for a couple of months - Joined @zfellows and flew out to SF last month - Cancelled my return flight to Toronto - Had wonderful neighbours I'd just met crowd-fund my apartment deposit - Got the call from @aroraharshita33 6 hours after my YC interview ...all without telling my mom. Codag is the crystallization of everything I picked up across infrastructure, systems, and platform engineering. Our thesis is that within two years, agents will be the primary consumer of logs, and soon the primary producer of them. Today's observability stack and dashboards were built for humans to look at. Agents are a different reader entirely, and the infrastructure for understanding systems at scale has to be rebuilt for them. That is what we're building. We start with log compression: turning millions of lines into a compact, cited capsule an agent can actually read, so it stops drowning and starts debugging. I cannot believe I get to work on this full time - I wake up every day looking forward to building more. To everyone who made it real: @carterkev, @cory, @aroraharshita33, @amiklas, @nemild for taking the bet, the neighbours who backed a stranger with a laptop, and the countless friends that support me. Thank you. We just published an open source CLI and algorithm for log compression, fully free at codag.ai. If your agent debugs production, I'd love for you to try it, or just to talk. Got a lot more coming soon, and most of it will be open source. Now I should probably call my mom 😰

Today WorkOS is launching auth.md An open protocol for agents to register for services on the web. We're partnering with @Cloudflare and @Firecrawl as some of the first providers. Why did we build this? And why now? 🧵

i'm excited to open source Active Graph: an event-sourced reactive graph runtime for long-running, agents 🔄🧠 events/logs projects a graph. reactive behaviors react and affect the graph. fork-and-diff agent runs. no A2A, no workflows, no DAG site: activegraph.ai docs: docs.activegraph.ai github: github.com/yoheinakajima/… quick start: pip install activegraph this is an early experiment in a new paradigm for agent architecture 🧪

PSA for everyone on H1B watching the Meta layoffs: You can self-petition and become a founder on your own visa. 2025 modernization rule made this real. I just did it, filed my own I-129, approved. Only works for bona fide businesses. Not a hack to buy time.

Are you a builder making a cool consumer app in San Francisco? Let's chat over some coffee! About me: 9+ years in the gaming industry as a creative, now building a consumer app as a solo founder (looking for cofounder or core team talent 👀) What am I building? I'm building stitch, a crazy simple app that turns your daily clips into a mini-vlog. If you are building fun consumer apps or know someone who would be interested, leave a comment or DM me! I'll be in SF from May 20-29th for Founders, Inc. demo day. If anyone is going, lemme know! ps: I will be sponsoring coffee ☕️🤍

OpenAI is investing in “forward deployment companies”. Google Cloud is expanding its FDE workforce. Anthropic is pushing AI consultancies. FDE is the new SWE. The future of work sits in the customer engagement layer - middle and back offices will be mostly run by agents.

I just interviewed with t1 accelerator (yc/a16z speedrun), and one of the final topics they asked about was my visa status. I shared that I’m currently based in Hong Kong and plan to get O1 visa. During the pre-interview process, they had also asked about my country of citizenship. They mentioned that due to political changes, they’re unable to fund me at this stage. They told me they were positive about me/my video and encouraged me to stay in touch.

This exercise is called Claude Pulldown. 🤣 PS: Looking for passionate Granola users. We are building an agent that turns your Granola notes and Calendar data into your own Wikipedia pages. Currently working with a small group of pilot users. DM if interested in trying it out! #granola

We need a default translation layer for every coding agent: Asking for a "Postgres message queue", you get a junior-level implementation. Instead, you need to prompt for: Spanner-style (push-based), best-effort horizontal scalability, high concurrency + worker isolation, txn lease timeout, retries, etc. People don't want to speak "Infrastructure" language. The agent should do it for them. There are some skills that do this but you just need to find them.
