When Vital chose Chris Haroun’s course on Udemy he hoped it would change his life. What he may not have known is that it would lead to changing lives in Magu, the small Rwandan village he grew up in, a place he says that has “no access to electricity, no access to internet.” But this story starts further back. Vital lost his father at the age of four during the 1994 genocide in Rwanda. It was a tragic period in Rwanda's history that left the people with many scars. It also hit the country’s educational system. Yet, Vital found his way to primary school through sponsorship from Compassion International, and then to University in Germany in 2014 to study Engineering. But home was never far from his mind. It was in Germany that he came up with his idea to build a school in Magu. Education didn’t stop for him at University. He started taking one of Chris Haroun’s business courses on Udemy. He also caught one of Chris’s YouTube Live Streams and started communicating with him. In 2019 he was finally able to meet Chris at a Udemy meet-up event in Berlin. Chris was inspired by Vital’s story and he asked him a question: “If you were given time — what would you do? What are you passionate about?” Ultimately this question led the two of them to co-found Project Magu and kicked off a series of fundraising campaigns, trips to Rwanda, and a lot of planning. And their work is paying off. Already construction of the school is underway; the computer lab is done; the driving school is in progress; and the vocational training school will come next. “I grew up in that village,” Vital says. “I love to give back to that village and my country in general.” And with Project Magu, he has. #AlwaysLearning

I've been helping 10 yo prepare for some standardized tests he has to take this year. One is in "non-verbal reasoning." I found some example questions online. They're hard, but we've been plowing through them. Today I noticed they're for employment screening for adults.
