Here’s a bonus points round up after last night’s OPTA update:
Semenyo gained a huge +5(!) bump in the bps but it sadly wasn’t enough to hit bonus.
He gained a successful tackle (+2), two successful dribbles (+2) and a chance created (+1).
This means he finishes on (31 bps) but not enough to catch Ruben Dias (33 bps).
The reason he didn’t hit bonus was that he was called offside 4 times (-4) + didn’t hit the pass threshold - something all his City teammates excel at!
We also had no DEFCON changes and all the bonus points remained the same in the City game.
Igor Thiago managed to hold onto his 1 bonus point. They actually removed one of his fouls which gave him (+1 bps).
It was fortunate that Thiago gained rather than lost bps because Flemming also gained (+1 bps) after receiving a valuable CBI point.
Dwight McNeil will join Sandro Tonali on 1 bonus point.
He closed the fairly large 3 bps gap after gaining both a successful tackle (+2) and a successful dribble (+1).
We had no bonus changes in the Liverpool game but Diouf did lose his DEFCON.
Not a lot of changes but we had some huge bps jumps last night, it just shows that a lot is possible if your player is close to the bonus!
Hope you all enjoy these breakdowns! 😀

@chriswithans Who decides how prestigious each medal is? You, I assume?
English

Again, this is the second most prestigious medal at the winter Olympics behind the men's hockey medal. And yet it counts exactly the same (1 Gold) in the medal standings as the Men's Sprint Classic Cross-Country skiing gold medal, which is one of 6 golds Norway has won in that one sport. There are just two hockey golds awarded despite it being the biggest winter sport in the world.
This is a great injustice.

@anthonyobrien81 @Corballyred Always laugh when people don't understand the concept of a team game.
English

@Corballyred Id suggest player could be classed as over hyped if using terminology like premier league all time great if they didn’t win a league title…

12 most overhyped PL players ever:
- Jaap Stam: Only 79 PL games for Utd before Fergie sold him.
- Paul Scholes: Zero impact for England; retired by Lampard/Gerrard at 29.
- David Beckham: Flopped at Real Madrid; not missed by Utd.
- Eric Cantona: Never performed in Europe or internationally.
- Didier Drogba: Avg just 11 PL goals/season (many pens).
- Frank Lampard: Defensive liability; poor all-round game; ~40% goals from set pieces.
- Eden Hazard: Avg 12 PL goals/season; only 1 season ≥20 in 7 yrs.
- Willian: Avg just 5 goals/season.
- Jack Grealish: £100m+ transfer; avg only 3 PL goals/season.
- Mesut Özil: Ghosted in big games; luxury player; avg 4 PL goals/season.
- Cole Palmer: 40% of 45 PL goals from pens; rarely vs Big 6; only 2 open-play goals vs top teams.
- Phil Foden: Hailed best England player since Gazza despite 4 intl goals in 49 caps.
Did I miss anyone 😄
English

@FPLfrasier @SayedZeesh No - it should be 1pt for each X number (probably 6). And all defcons should be the same regardless of position (what qualifies as a defcon and the thresholds).
English

@SayedZeesh I would make a minor adjustment. Give 4 points for double DEFCONS. 20 DEFCONS for defenders and 24 DEFCONS for midfielders should be 4 points. This doesn’t happen often. But, it should be fun when a player goes toward that target.
English

Unpopular opinion: The current DEFCON rules are just about perfect. It's made CDMs and CBs very much a part of the FPL landscape and widened the player pool.
The "dislike" from certain FPL managers is uncalled for. You feel DEFCON has ruined the game because fullbacks in the league just aren't that good anymore.
One thing I'd want next season however, is the DEFCON mids to priced much higher.
Elliot Anderson at 7.5 million instead of 5.5 million will give FPL managers a proper dilemma. Get safe 4 pts every week or chase the upside with someone explosive but highly inconsistent like Morgan Rogers.

@binnyisch @dannypea @12Xpert @Soccermatics Presumably he thinks the “pre game xG” (whatever that is) is found by adding the “pre game xG” of all the players!
English

@dannypea @12Xpert @Soccermatics What? “if team A) plays with 11 forwards, their predicted XG will be higher than a team playing 451”. Where are you getting this idea?
English

@timbayer93 His last DC points were achieved against Leeds Sunderland Forest and Brentford. He’s also has Leeds (again) and Wolves since then. They’re not very fixture difficulty dependent.
English

@jrh1729 Could be a variety of reasons but I think it’s in part due to change in fixture difficulty. Liverpool had one of the most tricky opening 8-10 matches and since then had “easier” games where higher possession is likely => less defcons. Also had lots of poss vs Ars

Here are the latest CBIT warriors updated after #FPL GW15.
Ever-present Senesi leading the way. Wieffer still strong for BHA.
Senesi (BOU), Tarkowski, Richards (Lacroix/Guehi) are probably the best CBIT targets for the next six GWs. Andersen less but more CS potential.

English

@SwedishRumble Your'e assuming players only have one foot. The other one isn't amputated, it's just weaker, but they can still gather, shield and pass the ball with it etc. They're professionals, you know!
English

Dorgu also had a record 21 plays resulting in possession lost against Burnley.
No top manager today play with the “Same-foot” winger, ie right foot/RW or left foot/LW. Why? Arguably the best manager ever in Fergie did it?
The record 21 plays leading to lost possession explains it. Defense is tighter, the game faster. This is Dorgu’s heat map against Burnley. The left foot is an advantage in the green square and disadvantage in the red square. It’s clearly a bigger disadvantage than advantage.

Statman Dave@StatmanDave
Patrick Dorgu created more chances than he ever has before today (5) whilst Benjamin Šeško had the most shots (8) he’s ever had. Big steps forward. 👏
English

@AliceTalksFooty Agreed - it's so unfair United had a goal disallowed for <checks notes> a clear and obvious foul. Why aren't United allowed to just wrestle players to the floor - it's a fix!
English

Full time review:
- Much better from Man Utd, disappointing not to win but an all round better performance.
- Nice to see us go for games, and try and win instead of sit back.
- Sesko much better, his movement has always been good but he’s been unlucky lately and missed some chances, those two goals will be huge for his confidence.
- Lacey so close, that’s why we sub on youth. He almost had a brilliant moment.
- Still struggling to breakdown low blocks.
- Dorgu played well.
- We need a new midfielder in January.
- We dropped levels as soon as Bruno came off.
- Bruno was fantastic.
- Casemiro is so poor when he plays more than once a week.
- Deserved so much more, dropped points but unlike Wolves this performance showed promise.
- Can’t believe Amorim ignored Lacey.
- Annoying to drop points again when we have an opportunity to go 4th.
Dumb people will tweet wasn’t Ruben Amorim the problem, but let’s be honest if Amorim was manager tonight we all know he would have dropped points tonight as well.

English

@EBL2017 Players in natural positons? Dorgu has only played there three times in his career previously (per understat).
English

@RubinWeston Good rule but as the controllers of the game keep loading more and more games onto the better teams it’s impossible. Just look at Crystal Palace, and they’re not even UCL.
English

@UtdResurgent Complete and utter joke to suggest Ole is even in the same postcode as managers like Iraola, Glasner and Tuchel. After being sacked by Man U (yes, sacked, forget any "mutual consent") he took about 4 years to get a job, at third rate team in a 9th rate league. And was sacked.
English

@empireofthekop Err - he got a yellow card. Are those handed out for things that are “absolutely fine”??
English

Fair enough so, lads - booting someone in the chest and making no attempt to play the ball is absolutely fine, then 🤷
Premier League Match Centre@PLMatchCentre
#LIVBHA – 45+2’ The referee’s call of yellow card to Gomez was checked and confirmed by VAR – with the challenge on Wirtz deemed not to be with excessive force and not serious foul play.
English

@HidetoshiSensei @fpl_tactician @LetsTalk_FPL If you’re looking at xG take into account that it’s not counted for winning a penalty, even though it’s an FPL assist. Dango won his 4th pen today, and Brentford get a lot of pens.
English

@fpl_tactician @LetsTalk_FPL Can you clarify why you went for Dango instead of Shade? I have pretty much the same team as you 👌🏻💯

@ConnorHolden00 New rule - anyone who refers to a club as “we” has to clearly declare in their bio what club that is.
English

I don’t think we are ready to challenge right now, but the fact we are being left out of these graphics with the current league context is kinda crazy 😂

Incredible how a player who had absolutely no connection to this club or city prior to his transfer can be the absolute embodiment of Newcastle United
