@paulg @Seanfrank Best label, Optima font is *gorgeous*, first major producer I think to put *all* the ingredients on the label, to the extent it would be illegal in France. All the varietals listed, including % by the 70s at least. Labels virtually unchanged in 50+ years. Flawless.

@marijanapav Nice work! I love the RGB sliders, I haven’t picked color on a phone that way before, works better than I would’ve guessed

@ernesto__alonso @jstrelioff Agreed, these feel like descendants of Souvenir. Created in 1914 (!) late Art Nouveau vibes. Surely there are other modern riffs out there, though I’d be tempted to see how well the original works

@simonsarris Anecdotally, I started to feel the tradeoff between these two true things at 4 kids. We had a 5th and that feels like the optimal balance for our family.
English

Every child you add makes a many more connections for the entire family. The graph of love is not a bunch of arrows pointing only to mom. They will all have a long childhood of playing together.
(n(n-1)/2 more connections to be exact)

Rebecca Reid@RebeccaCNReid
You cannot give nine children adequate time, attention and connection. You are, unquestionably, with nine children, spending less time with your children than a working parent with two kids.

this is a bonkers user interface but it comes from the great and iconic @McMasterCarr where every click navigates you through an enormous taxonomy of hardware
in that context, you're avoiding keyboard entry and optimizing for mouse and tab. All of a sudden scrolling around this list feels like a fine and not even unpleasant way to select a number between 1 and 150
Spacious, pretty efficient, doesn't break the flow of mouse clicks as you burrow deep into the catalog

@matterfiction @bnj @variantui It is and I love it
design systems grew in complexity and everything tended toward Tailwind and Inter, this is the way back
English

@bnj @variantui This is literally just a CSS theme. Am I the only one who sees this?
English

We made a tool that lets you absorb the vibe of anything you point it at and apply it to your designs
It's absurd and it just works

Given that a16z just led a $8.3M round into an SVG company, it’s only a matter of time before they put millions into on-chain SVGs like @emblemweaver and XVG.
Sell your stocks. Sell your crypto. Sell your dollars.
Buy rare SVGs.

@brian_armstrong @base put statements and beliefs onchain and stake $2 to prove your conviction
this refundable cost filters out spam and slop and makes for a much more interesting feed!

@pmarca @joeroganhq inspired more recently by @rhackett's thesis on staked media:
"credibility comes from...having stakes that you can make transparent and verifiable commitments about"

I wrote about something I’m calling 'staked media' for our big ideas list @a16zcrypto this year.

Early inspiration from @pmarca @joeroganhq on deepfakes and elections:
"we're going to have to switch our sense of what's real from basically just trying to eyeball it and figure out whether it's real to only taking seriously the things that we know are real"
