@BeyondTheHalo "Wonder if a reliever has ever won a gold glove?" Nope! All starters. And most guys who win it keep winning it. Kaat, Maddux, Gibson, Mussina, etc.

Brent Suter entered today leading pitchers in defensive runs saved (3), and he shows why here. Wonder if a reliever has ever won a gold glove?

@Angels_SZN22 @AngelsWin The Nick Madrigal who has a .629 OPS as a 29-yr-old in AAA and who didn't play at all last year? And the 30-yr-old Siri who has hit .177/.248/.348 the past 2 years in the majors? Yeah, that'll solve all the problems.

@AngelsWin Right now cut Pomz, Sandlin, Moncada, Teo. Call up Siri, Madrigal, Aldegheri and Saucedo. Play Peraza everyday at 3B and Frazier at 2B.

Hey @WayneRandazzo or @Markgubicza: are you guys aware that the broadcast cuts to commercial during the 7th inning stretch, right as you start talking about the highlights from around to league? It comes back right as you're wrapping up, then cuts to commercial again. Every game.

Neon’s ‘HOKUM’ just pulled off a seriously impressive opening weekend for original horror. Damian McCarthy’s creepy Irish inn nightmare opened to $6.4 million against a reported $5 million budget. Story: [dreadcentral.com/box-office/571…]

feels appropriate to turn 35 on the same day I’m watching A.I. on 35mm, Spielberg’s funereal reflection of trapped and stolen youth amidst the cruel passage of time in a technofuturistic hellscape that’s closer to our reality by the day. happy birthday to me!

@BaseballGuy316 @HalosReport And a mediocre rental at that, unless he starts hitting with more power again. I don't know that there will be a lot of demand among contenders for an OF with a .305 OBP and a .366 SLG.

@HalosReport Adell has one year of control and that year could be locked out. So any team trading for him will treat him like a rental as far as value.

@ThiefCGT @RichardLNewby3 He blocked me a couple years ago because I pointed out the "UFOs" he was posting about were actually just dirty spots on his phone camera lens. Dude completely freaked out on me and then blocked me.

Oh, to find a filmmaker criminally overrated with their first wide release. Oh, to misunderstand The Shining and make an off-base comparison because of “hotel”. Oh, to warn the people and shame Neon for their well-received, $5M budgeted hit. Oh, the horror, the horror. 🤣🤣

@whenbatmenfly @ViewerAnon Circling back to this. It's 8:07pm in Los Angeles on Friday and, just like I said before, CinemaScores are already available for 2 of this weekend's wide releases.

@BeyondTheHalo Sure, that's why I mentioned that something seemed off about that interaction a couple days ago. But I highly doubt the current beat writers will want to poke the bear, unfortunately.

Bob Nightengale in the USA Today this morning: “Albert Pujols could have been the Los Angeles Angels’ manager this year, but his contract demands and request for personnel changes led the Angels to instead turning to Kurt Suzuki on a one-year contract.”

@BeyondTheHalo Again, though, no real idea if his preferred GM options would be any good. I freely admit I'm biased, though, as I just want Pujols as far away from the Angels as possible.

@jsnpritchett The main reason I wanted Pujols in the offseason was that he would’ve brought about a GM change, which is what the “personnel change” is referring to.

The Angels are last in the majors in WPA (Wins Probability Added) with an awful -3.38 ranking. -3.38 is worse than awful actually and signals repeated failures in clutch spots—blown leads, poor bullpen usage, hitters going cold with runners in scoring position, or pitchers allowing big innings when the game is on the line. It directly drags down the team’s record beyond what raw stats (ERA, OPS, etc.) might suggest. WPA (Win Probability Added) measures the exact change in a team's chance of winning the game from one play to the next. It’s based on the game state (inning, score, outs, runners on base) and historical data for how often teams win from that exact situation. A positive play (e.g., a go-ahead homer in the 8th with two outs) adds to WPA; a negative one (e.g., a bases-loaded walk in a tie game) subtracts from it. The credits are zero-sum: whatever the batter/pitcher gains, the opposing side loses. At the team level (or for a group like the bullpen or lineup), the total WPA for a full game is always +0.5 for the winner and -0.5 for the loser. Over time, this means a team’s (or roster unit’s) cumulative WPA tracks its wins/losses closely. But the key is how it accumulates: it heavily weights high-leverage moments. Early in the 2026 season through 29-games played a -3.38 WPA as the league low is an outlier disaster. For context on the scale (from FanGraphs benchmarks for a full season, but the principle holds early on): +6.0+ = Excellent (adds multiple wins) +3.0 = Great +1.0 = Above average 0.0 = Average -1.0 = Poor -3.0 = Awful So as you can see a -3.38 WPA represents a massive negative impact on a team's actual win probability—roughly the equivalent of costing the team 3–4 full wins' worth of outcomes through poor performance in game situations.
