If I want to go to tonight’s game on a Wednesday, against an inferior opponent, the cheapest ticket I can buy directly from the Pirates is 32 bucks plus 7 dollars in fees. If I check StubHub, the cheapest ticket I can get is 30 bucks (includes fees)

@1992Pirates Isn't the relevant number the cheapest seats rather than average? Not sure how they do with that.

@BucsParrotTimes Say I wanted to go to a game this week… why should I pay 41 dollars a ticket to sit in the same section that I very very frequently sat in the last time the team was good, for 16 dollars a ticket?

The weekday attendance at Pirates home games has been absolutely abysmal this season. Tonight is the 13th weekday home game and I can’t think of a crowd that’s topped 15K

@CaidenKing2 @arielhelwani People want to see Francis Ngannou fight *in the UFC* Dana White should not dictate to his fanbase that popular fighters and former champions are just suddenly gone from the UFC on his personal whims

Jake Paul explains why he thinks the UFC has started to decline: “I think there are a lot of weird things happening over at that organization. I believe they’ve lost touch with the pulse of their fans and making the fights that people want to see. I’ve also noticed a difference in the organization, and it’s hard to say exactly what it is, but it just doesn’t have as much hype anymore.”

@buccoburners @1992Pirates When that same section (upperdeck behind home plate was 16 dollars for forever, including the last time the team was good, and now they’re 41 apiece and people wondering why attendance is bad, yeah, it’s worth mentioning.

@NHLGM1 @chwolfson my friend got the ballpark pass this year and he’s raved about it. Unfortunately I work too much and live three counties away.

@chwolfson @jswank80 Ballpark pass gives you access to standing room tickets for $45 per month for all the games. You can then upgrade the seats to section 115 behind the plate for $8.

@BobSmizik I don’t want to pay 35 dollars a ticket to sit it the same seats I paid 16 dollars to sit in the last time the team was good Bob. I distinctly remember getting 100 level seats for less than 10 dollars on the secondary market in the lean years, the Pirates now control that too.

Winning team. Splendid spring night. Best ballpark in America. The great Paul Skenes on the mound. Tickets sold: 13,515. Actual people in stands: Somewhat less. Please don’t tell me Pittsburgh is a great baseball town. Or even a good one. It’s a mediocre baseball town. #Pirates.

@vergotd @1992Pirates @DanZangrilli Why sell 10/15 dollar tickets to fill up the ballpark when he can just leave the prices as is and tell half the Aramark employees and ushers they don’t have to come in that night? I went to so many games for less than 15 dollars for a long long time. Sucks.

@1992Pirates @DanZangrilli My theory is that the Pirates(and many other teams and concert promoters) are run by math nerds that would rather sell 13k tickets @$38 versus 20k tickets @$22. It gets you more ticket revenue, but also shrinks your fanbase because the price point eventually gets too high.

@GraveyardDogs81 @GiftedMoney The fully painted Doink here was Skinner, they’d probably use Brawler to do run ins as another Doink or as Doink in between the time Bourne was fired and Ray Apollo took over the character.

@TheChicagoPope I’m not liking this because I agree or have any issue with Bauer, I’m appreciating the believable insight, though I will say my favorite team signed Mike Clevinger to a non roster spring training contract and then a minor league deal. he’s not likely better in any sense.

Texted my friend who works in a high level position in a MLB front office to ask him if he had any insight into why Trevor Bauer isn’t getting any traction in the MLB again. This is his verbatim response, copied and pasted with permission: “No interest in him for yrs. PR nightmare, players don’t want him around, control freak and a diva, wants special treatment. League minimum talk on X is a desperation play for clicks, eyeballs. Every scouting dept monitors NPB, MEX. Velo+spin down, control diminishing. Workout programs took backseat to YouTube career, shows on field. Doesn’t have the stuff to make a 40man, wouldn’t make our LowA roster. Would be shocked if he ever gets even a minor league deal again. Def won’t with us, friends in other offices say same.” Nature is healing. 🥰🥰🥰
Trevor Bauer (トレバー・バウアー)@BauerOutage

Hypothetical: You’re the owner of an MLB team. I offer to take $0 salary and sign a minor league contract and go to Low A. If the “he sucks now” crowd is right and I get lit up, you cut me, lose $0 and there’s no risk to the big league club. If the “clubhouse cancer” crowd is right, you see it immediately at Low A and cut me. You lose $0 and there’s no risk to the big league club. If there’s massive negative PR, which we already know there won’t be, you just cut me and move on. The story is dead in a couple days, you lose $0, and there’s no risk to the big league club. But, assuming none of those things happen, which they obviously wouldn’t, if you like what you see, you can promote me to AA and re evaluate me there. Then AAA. Then the big leagues. If I earn it, which you’d be 100% in control of deciding. If you don’t think I’m good enough, you lose $0 and there’s no risk to the big league club. You could take away my “antics”. You could take away my social media. You could ask anything of me. If I don’t comply, you cut me, lose $0, and there’s no risk to the big league club. What logical reason is there to not do this? At worst, you cut me and there’s no risk to the big league club. At best, you get a Cy Young winner for $0 who you know can still pitch and could help the big league team if and when you see fit.

@jswank80 @CouchRacerShop That's the rumor. And I really wouldn't be opposed to that of he's going to retire. Maybe Brad runs an open car on certain races he wants to for a few years. But Brad doesn't seem like he wants to retire for another few years.

All of this is only going to continue to add to the already growing tension/resentment/animosity between the veterans in WWE and the PC talent.
