OBSESSION is the first legitimate Gen-Z horror masterpiece. I know internet discourse has diluted to hyperbole, but this is a true modern classic. Relentlessly intelligent, distressingly funny and it’s the first time since Hereditary I was left profoundly shaken. An all-timer.

Obsession, to me, is a loud condemnation of fakeness and inauthenticity. How the fear of being genuine and “cringe” alongside the unwillingness to see people as they are vs. how you feel about them can make you a much, much worse person. I do hope more people talk about that.

I'm glad he said this because it's MY biggest takeaway from the film. Obsession is ultimately a tragedy where a woman is stripped of her autonomy for the sake of fulfilling a "nice guy's" fantasy.
