💧Update from @AustinWater: Work is proceeding as anticipated on the 48-inch transmission main. Valve turns are complete to isolate the main, the line has been drained, and repairs have begun. Austin Water continues to monitor reservoir levels and system pressure, but. . .

Austin! Please call authorities if you’ve seen Hunter and help bring him home safely. His mother reached out to me, as he has been missing for five days, and we need to get the word out.

@loganb @JackCraver This is one of those tweets that I instantly know I’ll be quoting in my head for years to come. Also that I wish I’d come up with myself.

It's so disorienting seeing Austin described as some kind of YIMBY utopia. The reforms passed on Friday were huge. But we were coming from a much worse place in terms of zoning, and on transit/walkability we're still way below average.
Swann Marcus@SwannMarcus89

Why does Austin keep going so fucking hard on housing when every other other city known for progressive politics is a horrifically unaffordable nightmare of homelessness that was frozen in amber in the mid 1980s

Good bike infrastructure is by far the cheapest cost/mile way to add mobility capacity. It helps you go car-lite, helps kids have better lives, keeps you fit, reduces car death, and is used by the Austinites of the most modest means. We should have the USA’s best bike network.
Julie Montgomery@juliamontgomery

Stunning tool. Why do I care about safe biking infrastructure? These two maps are at the exact same scale & position -- but look at how many more Austinites can reach schools, parks, transit, and groceries by bike than by foot.

Right wingers and transphobes have been gathering support and raising over $3000 (?!) to bring a bunch of speakers to oppose the measure. That's why your voice matters so much - we need to counter this astroturfing & make sure the LGBT supporters outnumber the transphobes.

TRANS TEXANS & ALLIES: Stand up for trans kids at the Austin City Council meeting THIS THURSDAY! The Austin City Council is voting to deprioritize enforcement of Texas's trans healthcare ban, and we need YOUR support to make sure the measure passes.

@t1rno Please keep our office and TPW posted on how this is going for you! We want to understand the barriers folks face so we can try to address them, and I know staff feels the same.

I don't even think we got in contact with 44 properties. Perhaps unsurprisingly, a lot of door knocks go unanswered, but I would also guess 10-20% of properties were vacant, under construction, or STRs.

Is it just me or is anyone else struggling to meet the 60% signature requirement for @austinmobility's Living Streets program? We posted online & spent hours canvassing 74 properties, and we got a mostly positive response, but reaching 44 seems time-consuming & unlikely.

The #ATXCouncil passed this unanimously! Thank you to our amazing Mobility Committee Chair @PaigeForAustin and Vice Chair @CMZoQadri for working so hard on this! Many folks had lost hope in keeping our bike lanes safe for all ages and abilities, but now we have real action!
Spencer Schumacher@BikeLaneSpencer

April 4th, the #ATXCouncil will consider bold steps to address illegal bike lane parking including: - Volunteer bike lane enforcement - Making parking in the bike lane illegal by default - Prioritizing enforcement by mobility officers - Driver education programs for first offense

Expect "delays and long travel times" during Monday's total eclipse, Austin's emergency management director Ken Snipes said. He suggests getting groceries and gas ahead of time. He warned cell phone towers could get overloaded as people post vids/pics. You can text 9-1-1.
